Just bought my kid a 32 LED tv and need it mounting on i believe plasterboard wall.. Will it hold? Has anyone done this?

Not unless you screw into something solid such as timber studs.
If the studs aren't located in the right position then you can span them with a bearer and fix your TV mountings to that.
Or if you don't mind the massive amount of extra work, cut out the plasterboard, fix noggins between the studs in the right place, patch the plasterboard, make good, redecorate.
Im still in the process of finding the studs thru my cheapo argos stud finder..but not sure as when i double check it by tapping the found studs agains other part of the wall, it seems to be making a hollow tap sound.
I have a 55 " hung on plasterboard using a any wall bracket, I was sceptical when someone recommended it to me but after trying it (had the daughter swing on the bracket before the tv went on !) I have to say I am very impressed.

Got two screens mounted on hollow walls a mine.
Depends on the mounting plate obviously but timber battens are way ott these days given the range of specialist fixings available
This is what you want:
You'll be fine. Any of the heavier duty plasterboard fittings have a safe working load of about 20kg (based on 15mm plasterboard), so if you use 4 you'll be sorted.
SWL is usually 1/4 ultimate load in tests.

Make sure you use the metal ones, not the plastic ones!
I've got about 20 of them holding a wooden batten to my utility room plasterboard wall.
Hanging from this batten I have a thule tow-bar bike rack, 3 mountain bikes, a Park workstand, a removable tow-ball, a wheel-jig, a 20" G-Clamp, various brushes and mops and a couple of fishing nets. I did worry when I put the fishing nets on....
