Does anyone know what hedge this leaf is from please? I’ve been searching online but none the wiser!!

I’m all too familiar with that stuff, my garden is littered with bits of it after I’ve finished trimming my hedges. Burns well once it’s dried out a bit, which is all you can do with it.

Not all conifer hedges are leylandi. Some where I grew up were of slow growing conifers. I would suggest taking a bit to a tree nursery or a real garden centre (not those that are basically general shopping centres) and getting them to confirm. Take a photo of the whole tree along as well.

It is some species of cypress (Cupressaceae) It looks like leylandii, but there are loads of other similar types and hybrids etc. Thuja can look similar, and is also fast growing.

I thought Thuja was pretty slow growing. Anyway if you want a proper id you need to take and picture of the hedge in situ.
