I have the above car in estate form and intermittently experience problems starting (like today !)
basically the battery is fine but every so often when I start the car the engine turns over really sluggishly just like you would experience with a flat battery and struggles to fire.makes no odds whether hot or cold.
presumably this initially points to a dodgy starter motor ?
the car has done 80K and it's never been changed.
your advice would be much appreciated.
btw ..the only thing I've attempted to do is to tighten the connections that I can reach from above in case of a poor connection, but the trouble keeps returning.
what would you do ???

I have the same car and had the same symptoms. I found it was the starter on mine after replacing the battery. Mine had done 130000 at that point.
Probably dropped a brush, as a quick fix put the car into gear and move it (this moves the starter and should free it) then it should turn over as normal.
