You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm a long-term forum member but have registered a different user name for obvious reasons.
My girlfriend found out yesterday that when she was 16 or 17 (she thinks, could possibly have been 18) - over a decade ago - a film of her was made without her knowledge or consent using a hidden camera. A friend of a friend of hers found it. It's been uploaded to a porn website, viewed 2 million times and has been there and available to download for years. She's devastated. We've managed to get the videos removed by the site by reporting them as under 18. The ex who uploaded these did so years after they split and has a couple of other videos on the site too which look like they might also have been filmed with a hidden camera / without consent.
What do we do now? What can we do? Police? Solicitor? Both? She won't see any counsellor - not her thing and I know we'll get through it.
The thought that he still has the videos, could still re-upload them, that who knows who else has them, having downloaded them over the years is unbearable.
What to do?
Well I think the police would take it very seriously especially given the age involved.
Revenge porn is now a crime and the police are reportedly taking it seriously. If she was under 18 that to is a serious offence that the police will take seriously. You must report this!
