I have a spare router at home (Talk Talk D-link) How can I strip the Talk Talk firmware and put generic firmware on?

Also if I plug it into the spare phone socket can I use 2 routers on the same network to improve the BB signal upstairs?
Don't really want to resort to using/buying a repeater. Mainly due to cost 🙂

google the model number.
go to dlink site.
download new firmware.
read instructions on how to flash it to the hardware.
put your head between your knees, pray to your god, and kiss your arse goodbye.....

....and reboot.

2 routers - no, unless you want to do some messing around. You could probably use it in some kind of repeater mode though, worth checking the manual

Thanks Stoner. I'll give it a go. I'm running Xubuntu though just to cause extra problems. 🙂
