You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Bought a Hero 3 Silver and having some issues I'd really appreciate advice with. The biggest issue is playback. I'd like to view my videos on my iPad/iphone and Apple TV. I can see that you can do this in two ways..use the SD card connected to my iPad and import directly using a connector, or use the app to wirelessly transfer the recording to the iPad. The former doesn't appear to work however and the latter only gives me the option of transferring low quality files resulting in rubbish clarity. I have read through lots of jargon and waffle which I barely understand that iOS doesn't like the files created by gopro and that you need to careful select your recording settings. Is this correct? Currently I'm using 1080, 60 fps and wide angle. Surely that's the best I can and want to achieve?
I've also tried importing the files into my pc using the gopro software. This worked well and resulted in crisp media files. However..I can't transfer them to itunes or view them on my iPad, iphone, Apple TV! Please tell me I'm doing something obviously wrong here as it surely can't be this difficult..can it?
Sounds like you need to convert the files to MP4 to view on Ipad (after downloading to a computer) etc. About the rest I'm not sure. I'm away to play with mine. I'll let you know how I get on.
Sorry. I'm talking sh*te. They are already MP4 files.
You might need the extra codec detailed in the following and then add them to iTunes after exporting from gopro studio
