I've heard of apps for solo riders that sense if your GPS hasn't moved for a while which then prompt you to click to say you're still alive / or alert your other half if you don't (eg: if you haven't moved while fixing a mechanical)
I manage a group of scientists and with a desire to restart work on site but also only one person per lab in some cases, anyone know of any similar apps that can prompt and require you to just tap in every so often - ie: as above but time dependant / without the GPS motion bit?
That way we can remote track and advise on site security and H&S to physically check if needed?
Longer term we are looking at eg: webcams, etc. but this could help in the short term. Might just end up being a team whatsapp if there's no easy off the shelf solution.
What you are looking for is called a lone worker alarm.
Cheapest is the app versions, then standalone devices, then spot-type tracker things. Used them a fair bit on oil/gas/mine type sites. Almost all of them use the gps so they can come find you if you have a fall/are immobilised/die.
For example:

Theres shed loads of them out there, so have a google and see what meets the requirements and budget.
