Thankfully not the bigoted views, but the puce face (upon drinking alcohol)!

Has started recently, but only just realised that having something to drink is the cause. Whether it’s after a pint, or a few glasses of wine I get a hot flush and face goes red and stays that way for a while.

Anyone else have this? I was going to cut down on the booze anyway (average about 5 pints a week) but this will make me totally cut it out. I need to book a general health check-up with my Dr so will chat to them about this then, well, unless you lot scare me into doing it sooner.

How do you feel about Nike's England flag?

Once you have the red face the rest of the package inevitably follows. How are you feeling about Brexit?

Brexit? I’m still angry, I’m still European!

Nike England flag? No idea, is this a football thing? Couldn’t give a toss.

Manopause? Possibly 😫

Go and see a doctor about it.
Not one of those immigrant ones though - coming over here and working in our health service for the good of society.

Isn’t the problem these rookie numbers

average about 5 pints a week

up your intake to build up resistance with the added bonus of a massive gammony gut.

I get something similar, also blotches on my skin sometimes.  It started out of the blue and I assume it's an allergy because only certain drinks do it.
Annoyingly my favourite whisky does cause it, supermarket cheapies generally don't.
It could just be that I've spent too much time on here and am becoming literally allergic to middle class things I suppose.

I would prescribe a subscription to the Daily Express. Take it early in the morning with a cup of tea so you can get all worked up about slackers and immigrants before you go to work.

And try to remember to start every sentence with 'Any another thing...'

an ex girlfriend of mine used to get it. We used to call it beer red face. It was just the first half pint that would cause it, then it would go away.

Brings back memories of being in China and going out to dinner with staff from China Mobile. They all went bright red after a few sips of beer.....

Alcohol intolerance is most common in East Asian people apparently.

I had a mate that did went very.red and blotchy sometimes.

I vaguely recall some hypothesis whereby western cultures purified water via fermentation whereas eastern cultures boiled it, hence we're better genetically filtered for drinking beer.

I had a mate at Uni who went livid red then purple after 2-3 pints.

Luckily he had the rest of us there for support and none of us used to take piss in any way whatsoever...

The only daily express readers I know don't work anymore, they're retired.  They took early retirement.  They moan about people being "economically inactive".

Once accompanied a delegation of Chinese business people to a Biergarten in Munich. Some hadn't even finished their first Maß and were falling asleep at the table!

@Houns
Can't help with a cure but i can recommend you start drinking down The Cider House.

You'll blend in well with some of the regulars and no one will notice.

Just don't join the five and drive crew.

After 5 pints of special I’d be physically unable to stand to walk to my car, let alone drive it!

Not a gammon, but yeh I get this Nd got flush and feel pretty shit when I drink even half a pint (and I'm not Asian). It's the reason I've not drank for years now. The last time I fancied a drink I couldn't even finish a pint of shandy because it hit me, ****ing shandy, that's some lightweight 🤣

I think some people just assume I'm a recovering alcoholic when I say I don't drink at all, and the surprise when i   tell health care professionals is amusing, I assume they think I'm lying.

What is funny is the amount of people who get really pushy about me (and my wife) not drinking at any occasion we have to go, it really seems to annoy them.

Do you have a red pair of cords?

Barbour quilted jacket?

All seriousness, I'd get your blood pressure checked.

Swap the beer for a refreshing glass of parsley sauce.
