My garage is on the opposite side of my house to the back door and it's very dark when I pop round for an evening fettle.

I need some lights to avoid slips, trips and falls (and walking into spiders webs). It's 26m around the girth of the wall from back door to garage door.

I was thinking about low level lights as I don't want to illuminate the whole garden. There's one outside light about halfway round which is switched internally - if I can take something off this it would be ideal, or I could possibly drill through to a internal socket near the back door.

Anyone done similar and can recommend something suitable?

I've just put a small run of these  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CJZ5KQB/ alongside our garage (there is a security light or two, but this just helps).

The difference from the others i've found is that these are on a dimmer switch. You can have them really quite low, so much less power and less annoyance, but enough to make things visible. I have mine on a timer, but obviously you could connect them up to a sensor. Decent amount of waterproof, decent light, etc

The only downside is the length of wire between the dimmer and the plug; i just cut it, joined another 3m wire, and then reconnected everything.

If you want no fuss put a waterproof battery operated camping light out there. The rechargable ones are less powerful. I had a look in Go outdoors but I preffered the ones on amazon in the end.
