I'm trying to remember the name of a female musician and it completely escapes me.
Singer, sounds a bit like the xx/Cocteau twins, I think she hits a snare drum occasionally, electro type thing. Think I remember seeing her on a hogmanay show.
Tracey Thorne..?
No, she's in her 20's I would guess. And a drum machine might have been involved rather than a snare.
Little Boots?
Christine and the Queens?
Alison Goldfrapp
peaches
La Roux
Little Boots
None of the 1st 3.
Might be little boots, not christine and the queens. I'll have a listen later.
That sounds a bit like Little Boots to me.
Grimes?
Could be Fka Twigs, but hitting a snare woukd certainly not be the most memorable thing!
LoneLady?
Englebert Humperdinck
Joe Cocker (when he experimented with a transgender stage)
Nina Nesbitt?
Rab’s sister?
Phil Cunningham?
Chvches?
Charity Tait?
Little Boots sued to perform with a Tenori-on (i had to google the name) which looks like a drum machine but with lights in the early days, maybe that
Jane Weaver?
Not little boots
Mrs Overall
If it was a Jools Holland Hogmanay show, maybe you can work back from here:

Chvrches were on Jools, but not the Hogmanay show. Jessie Ware?
From the thread title I thought you had 'accidentally' killed a busker...

I think I remember the episode.
It’s Grimes like DezB said.
