You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
As someone who never used to give more than a passing nod to Christmas, I find Mrs Zip’s Christmas dec collection bewildering.
With the boxes down MY loft is tidy and we would have room to store shop stock up there saving us £1300 a year for a lock up.
How do I persuade her to ditch at least half of this crap?
There’s still 3 big boxes in the loft full of Christmas crockery.
We’ve just had a new patio so reluctant to dig it up.

Bin the lot of it. She wont know for a year.
Fire Hazard!
Fake news. One of those boxes is empty.
Empty box, just waiting to be filled.
Charge her a £100 / month storage fee
You could put Mrs Zip in safe storage and keep the boxes. Let her out at xmas.
Ugg Boots.
Says it all!
Do you not go out the front door during Christmas?
Ooooh!....... It’s YOUR loft is it?
Thankfully we are taking the decks down today as we won’t be around for a while.
Help me grow a pair.... of baubles? You've got loads already.
Here you go:
You could try squashing it into a smaller number of boxes for a start, some of those boxes look half empty.
What’s Christmas crockery?
We have one large box of xmas tat and not even all that gets used.
Can someone forward OP post to MrsZippyKona? Job done!
Is that all the decs you have?-amateurs-let her buy some more and do it properly!
Just do the white trash thing and leave them up all year round.
Win win . Saves you space AND time.
If your's is like mine you'll never convince her to bin any of it, and the mere suggestion will land you a bollocking.
...but if you bin large amounts of it without asking she'll never realise.
In the unlikely even something is spotted as missing you can turn any accusation that you've binned something around and (tactfully) argue that there's so much crap she can't find her stuff so it's long overdue for a clearout.
I've been chucking bin liners full of SWMBO's landfill for years, I don't think the situation would have been manageable unless I did.
