I want a monitor somewhere between 24" and 30" that is USB-C compatible.
What ever I google I get lots of monitors about the right size but then have to click through about 5 pages of specifications to find if there is any mention of USB-C. Normally there is not so it is very frustrating.
I guess they are not all tagged with USB-C but is there anyway to make google return just the results I want rather than 10,000 pages of monitors which may or may not be relevant and no way of filtering them?
Use the '+' sign for must include.
monitor +usb-c
e.g. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en-GB&tbm=shop&q=monitor+%2Busb-c
Might help.
As an alternative, I've got an ace Dell USB C docking station at work. One USB C connection to the computer manages the LAN, monitor, (think it will actually do 2) keyboard, mouse and power and it has a couple more USB A and C ports available at the front. Doesn't matter what monitor you get then, it's brilliant.
One of these - but heed the warnings about laptop compatibility, obviously I didn't know that before I started this post. 🙄
I will try with the + thanks
I currently have two laptops and a desktop. I have a Logitech keyboard and mouse that I can switch to use which ever of the the I want.
I also have a 4x4 usb connector, only using the ports at the moment, to connect a microphone, speakers and camera. I switch this depending which machine I am having a conference call on.
At the moment I am using the little laptop screens and an old desk monitor. Most of the time this is okay as I do most work looking at the bigger screen but it would be handy to divert the laptops to that screen when necessary
I am now having doubts about the usb-c thing as the laptops might not be able to send their screens through usb anyway. Any way I can check?
They are company machines do I have no admin access.
What do you actually want the monitor to do?
For <£10 you can pick up a cable that will link USB C to HDMI, Displayport, mini DisplayPort but are you wanting one that will power your laptop (and display the video) on a single USB C cable?
USB-C -> HDMI is what you are looking for I'd say, then. you can chose any monitor.
This is the one I have. Would recommend;

Has HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C video in. You’ll def need to work out if your laptop(s) can output video over USB-C (and receive power in), but even if not I would still consider getting a USB-C monitor as it is so useful that is worth getting for future-proofing. All the other ports will cover you in the meantime.
Yeah I had this frustration. Google didn't seem to understand what you wanted, and very few shop websites allow you to filter for USB-C (Most shop websites allow you to check a box for USB but often that is just for use as a hub alongside E.g. HDMI NOT as the primary display connection).
When I bought mine (a year ago), USB-C was very much an oddity and only available on high-end monitors. As above, you can get a DisplayPort monitor and USB-C --> DisplayPort cable for a lot less. There's a lot to be said for having a single cable for monitor, mouse, keyboard, card reader and backup hard drives, though.

is what i use, my work laptop is a lenovo yoga x380, and my personal laptop a 2017 macbook pro. both work perfectly, extended display, sound, power, usb hub etc.
Makes for a clean desk as i only need a power cable to the monitor and a usbc cable to the laptop.
USB c is compatible with hdmi. Or just get an adaptor. My Asus laptop came with a USB c box that had usb a, hdmi and another USBC ( iirc ) connector. In effect a miniature docking station. The laptop itself only has usb c ports.
A note of caution on HDMI convertors, no problems if you want to run HD screens at 1080 resolution. If you want to run a 3 or 4K screen at full resolution you need the more modern HDMI convertor v2.
