I'm down to my last mug and can't find a new one that I like.

It needs to be at least 400ml and does not need to be insulated.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Mick

Oh if only there was a STW shop that could provide something to solve your problem

I've got a couple of the erm, what'sthenameofthatwebsiteagain... mugs. Nice n big with big man-sized handles too. Suiteable for tea also, amazingly enough. Oh yeah, singletrackworld, that one.

Well, this IS insulated but anyway, it's bitchin.
I got two.

Nice and big and keeps drinks hot longer. It's got a stainless interior, and if you drop it, it doesn't harm ones parquet.

An Aeropress fits on it perfectly.

Recommend what you've got:

https://www.loveramics.co.uk/products/pro-tea-mug-with-infuser-and-lid

It has an obscene price tag and infuser for maximum STW points (and an excuse to start a " what tea loose leaf tea for..." thread)
Ours are 4 years old, used daily and look brand new, purchased while in Hong Kong for approximately half the cost they are in the UK.

Yeti Rambler

414ml
Insulated (not vital I know but it's nice to have drinks that stay hot if you get called just as you're sitting down with it)
Stainless Steel
No silly print to peel off in the dishwasher
Optional push-in cover for even better heat retention and to reduce spillage if it gets knocked.
Sturdy enough to be used as an impromptu weapon, no plastic in the mug itself.

How does anyone in adulthood not have dozens of mugs already acquired as gifts?

Yeti Rambler

How much?! Looks like total overkill.

(I've got two, one like that and a smaller one. Flipping ace, make a cup of tea in the big one, walk the kids to school, come back in and pick it up on the way to my desk. Stays hot for ages. Smaller one is for coffee. Well recommended)

If you want to get really fancy how about an EMBER Smart Mug?

Yes it does exist, compatible with both iOS and Android.

My current favourite is a Chips Japan mug that MsGinge bought me last year.

Might be a bit spendy if you go through them at any sort of rate mind.

Zebra 400ml Stainless Steel (304 steel) Mug £3.99

You can use it on camp fire etc and last forever. The steel is thick but not double walled.

Does Not rust like some other so called stainless steel from China.

I use it everyday.

My nicest mug for drinking out of is a very weathered Keswick Mountain Rescue one. No idea of size but it's just right for tea. No e for sale on their site but others do, normal mugs, insulated mugs or even a collapsable one from Cleveland (could be good or a total disaster).
Take your pick:

I got a few of them for Christmas - lovely things, but find them a touch on the small side.

‘man mug’ perfection

100% this. I’ve had my yeti rambler mug (the same one in the photo) for years. It’s awesome for all the reasons listed.

How much?! Looks like total overkill.

Are you new here? Ain’t no kill like overkill

I am pondering the existence of this parallel universe you all live in where you run out of mugs and have to go and buy one. It’s just strange.

I’ve got my Batman mug, that is absolutely massive and only comes out when I really need to guzzle a drink! You get 1/4 of the way down it and it’s gone cold already 🤣

I got the same mug, but with a different print. Handle is pretty pathetic.

Pop into your local charity shop. They'll have several. Couple of quid to charity, better for the environment too.

Exactly this. We have to retire mugs to the charity shop as we keep acquiring more and more of them. That said, current favourite is a posh one bought from an art gallery gift shop. Was only £8 but is big, looks nice and has a decent size handle.

100% the herdy mugs above, but not the state of footflaps one 😱!! I have two which I cycle through my tea and coffee during the day! I have a smaller one which is used for a decaf aeropress at 4.

Yes WFH for nearly 2 years means I have become a creature of habit 🤣

Help me find the perfect WFH mug.

Hang on. OP when you say "WFH mug" is it just your WFH mug cupboard which is down to its last occupant?

Were we to think outside the box, could the problem be easily solved by shifting a couple of dozen mugs over from the everyday household mugs cupboard?

I have a slip cast mug made for me by a very skilled colleague when I left. She got all of my work friends to make a stamp each that was pressed into the clay before it was fired. It is fragile so not used every day but comes out when I need a virtual hug.

Same here, I'm currently sipping coffee from this:
It was a Christmas present from my wife who clearly didn't know what to get me, and was oblivious to the cupboard full of mugs we already owned...

Just counted and we have over 40 mugs in our kitchen.

Also 12 cups & saucers which never get used. But they’re ready in case the Queen ever pops round. We’re out of biscuits though.

I’m ashamed.
