Been on the hunt for a cheap second-hand laptop for about £150. Narrowed it down to:
Dell Lattitude E4310
Lenovo Thinkpad X201
They seem about evenly matched and I can't decide. Any reasons for or against them?
Cheers.
If the specs are similar then take the Thinkpad for better build quality.
I've got the Dell at work. It's Ok. It's heavy. but I've not had any problems with build quality. I've got 16GB of ram in it and it runs reasonably quickly. You can access the internals easily if you want to install an SSD or more Ram.
I don't like the stupid nipple mouse thing. Why they can't just stick with a track pad is beyond me. You end up with two rubbish cursor controllers rather than one useful one.
UK Government now sells off Dells and thinkpads when they reach the end of their warranty. You can pick the Dell up for £80. Unfortunately I don't know the outlet weblink.
Thanks. Think I might toss a coin 🙂
