Im giving the Mobile broadband thing a punt. Got all kit etc ordered and tried my neighbours hardware setup. Hes pulling 90mbps to my 17mbps. Im sold.
Got all kit etc on way, Im not well versed with topcashback and allthat lark - whats the absolute best deal at the min for an EE SIM ONLY UNLIMITED data deal. Ive rang them and theyve offered me £33 a month for 24 motnhs (as an existing customer)
Can this be beaten with cashback, etc?
Do you need unlimited? I use EE when away at holiday home in Scotland (no phone line). I just buy some pre pay sims from eBay/Amazon. It’s wasteful on SIM cards but works out cheaper than a monthly contract (which obviously I don’t want as not there all year).
Just an idea
Have a look on Hotukdeals or Uswitch.
Does it have to be EE?
£18/month with Smarty for unlimited data, that's on Three IIRC. Monthly contract so no tie-in.

£32 is good. Pay it.
Smarty don't use carrier aggregation (even if they use the same mast) - so if you want unlimited 4G (or 5G) internet that runs at a decent speed then EE's your best bet.
Virgin use EE's infra, but will be signing a new deal with another provider soon so may lose carrier aggregation, plus their customer service is so woeful that they don't deserve a penny.
£32/month for unlimited broadband is right. I couldn't find better but I'm in the sticks - near Betws Y Coed but totally rural - and EE (tmobile) owns the mast nearest me.
I'm paying £16/month for 160GB data on EE 5G. 6 months Apple music, 6 mo Britbox and 3 months BT Sport thrown in too, with their data not counted from the 160GB. 24 month plan. It's on the EE website under Black Friday deals, listed as £20 but you can get student discount of 20% through Studentbeans, and I have two sprogs at uni. The same code might cost you as much as £3 on ebay though. Offer says it ends tonight.
all helppful stuff thanks. Think I'll bite the bullet and go for the 32 then.
Defo needs to be unlimited myself and partner can get through quite a lot of data some months I also can't be bothered with climbing a ladder to swap SIM cards in my dish too often.
Cheers
I'm an existing EE customer and in my offers section I could take unlimited data for £25 per month.
I’ve just done this as have moved to an area with rubbish broadband. £33 a month is good, I’m paying more than that but I suppose I wasn’t an existing customer
I have a 1p mobile sim, no contract, 50Gb for £15 and uses EE network.
For those interested I took the plunge and went for it, now getting 90mbps down and 40 mbps up!
I live relatively out in the sticks too!
How do you check where your masts are?
Just done a check, my fibre is roughly 19mbps, 4g 22mbps (EE)
How would I find out where my local mast is and whether I am with the best provider? (4g)
Three were doing an unlimited deal for £15pm the other week it may be still on. The speeds are just fine.
@funkydunc - I used a site called cellmapper.com It shows the nearest towers and which bands/frequencies and possible speeds they require - also which networks they are open to.
I'm very lucky in that I live literally on one side of a valley and have many masts in range. Quite unexpectedly the cell tower I receive the strongest/fastest signal from is approx 12 miles away!
Theres one less than 3 miles away but due to its orientation the speeds I got were pants. As I say i've got from a 17mbps down and 1mbps up to ~70 down (on average, ive had this as high as 98 and low as 60) and a consistent 30mbps upstream.
I paid 150 for the dish but am free from line rental and the SIM is a fiver a month less than my BT bill was - speeds are literally 4-5 faster!
