This is driving me nuts, I'm obviously missing something fundamental here.
Just how do you embed a photo on the forum?

I've tried both Photobucket and Flickr using the IMG [img] [/img] but to no avail.
I've looked at the coding on the pages that have embedded images - yep, all looks simple, but can I get mine to work? No.
Please help, I fear I'm loosing my mind!

Easiest way:

1) Go to http://postimage.org/
2) Select "Browse" to upload the image from your PC/tablet/phone.
3) Once uploaded it'll give you a series of "copy to clipboard" buttons. Press the one for "Direct Link" (on a tablet/phone you may need to manually copy the text)
4) In your post on here press the IMG button then paste in the URL of the image which should now be on your clipboard.

Done.

Flickr

1/ Select the image
2/ Click on the wee "Sharing" box bottom right (box with an arrow)
3/ Choose "Grab HTML/BBCode"
4/ Then Choose BBCode and an image size (640x480 will do it)
5/ Copy the HTML text in the box above
6/ Paste it on the forum (without the IMG tag)

Your browser will remember 3 and 4 so it gets easier.

If you have a photo on photobucket on the right hand side of the page there is a section that says "Share Links" beneath an advert.

One of the boxes below the heading "Share Links" says IMG next to it- click in that box, it will copy automatically, then paste on here. It will look like this, but without the spaces around the IMG and URL tags. Took me ages to figure it out first time.

[URL = .html][IMG ] [/IMG ][/ URL]

You do have a bag if kittens don't you? I mean, no ones mentioned you need to kill a kitten for each photo posted as it's so obvious but it can be overlooked.

Don't get me started on gifs and the murdering of puppies.
