We're writing to let you know that we've removed an item you recently won due to concerns with the seller's account: xxxxxxxxx

Since you've already paid for the item, you don't need to do anything else.
If your item hasn't arrived yet, it should arrive soon. If it doesn't, then you'll want to open a case in our Resolution Centre. You can learn how to do this, plus find timelines for opening cases, at blah blah.

So basically I've paid for the item, they have removed his eBay account (guessing I can't even contact him now?) but hey, if it doesn't turn up you might get your money back?? Wtf?

If they have removed his account doesn't that infer I'll never get the item, circa £200?

Never ever had this before, can anyone shed some light on this please?

Thanks guys!

(Technically I haven't paid the seller, it's "pay after delivery" and comes out of my account on the 30th March.)

Fake goods in my experience of that.seller closed by a complaint by the owner of the brand. I bought my son a pair of new balance trainers that were a fair bit( 25%) cheaper. I got trainers and refund though.

I’ve had this twice. First time the thing turned up, second time I opened a case as they said and got my money refunded within half an hour.

Timely! My wife ordered a *ahem* possibly not genuine football kit from eBay for my son.
Got a dispatch notification, taking number, then when she went back to check the item is greyed out in her purchases. No email though, and the money has come out of her account.
It's supposed to be coming from Australia, so I guess we'll just see if anything turns up.

Open a case, it'll get refunded.

If the item turns up, you can keep it.

5 replies and no one is intrigued as to what this 'item' might be?

Shameful. Come on spill the beans, what illicit contraband have you purloined?

as above - if it doesn't turn up (which is likely given the account closure) then open a case and you will get refunded - pretty much straight away in my experience of dealing with ebay. Follow the procedure and they are great IME.

Either fake goods or goods they are not allowed to sell.

Hand sanitizer??

I had this when I bought a hydroshot that was too good to be true. I figured I'd be covered by ebay if anything happened.

Got my refund automatically but no hydro shot!

Go on then, what did you buy? Was it toilet roll or hand sanitiser?

Well he's stated the username is xxxxxxxxx, which is XXX times 3, so it's clearly a £200 adult toy.

Do I have to wait a certain time before I can open a case?

I never got a posted confirmation from the seller, then again he didn't have much time to do that as they binned his account soon after.
