The key fob opens all of the doors but the boot is not releasing, it is a single rear door.
I am guessing either something in the catch mechanism has broken or there is something snagging the catch. I can get inside. Do I just pull the black plastic trim off the inside of the boot door and look for a cable or is there another option.
Mostly asking because I am worried about just yanking the trim off the inside and it not fitting right afterwards.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🙂
you may not be able to get the trim off with the door shut, but you might be able to get it off enough to wiggle something in there. It def won't go on the same unless you buy more fastenings - most recent cars have single-use fittings for trim
what year is it? we have two doblos. 2009 one is in the garage as we speak with the same problem. three parts, the latch, the handle and the white plastic clips that hold the rod in the handle to the latch. door card is held on with 3 x bolts.
does it open key in the lock barrel? if so likely the centra locking solenoid which is easy to get at and held on with one bolt. could also be a fuse.
A lot of cars have a small cover with boot release latch inside. Designed to be opened from inside without removing all of the trim.
It is 2012 so it is the next version and doesn’t have a key hole on that door so just opens when the driver’s door opens
Is there a hole in the latch that you can shove a screwdriver in from inside? Most cars have an emergency release like this, but Doblo may be different.

It's hard to get good help these days. Fire the ones you have and include opening a car boot as part of the hiring interview for their replacements.
Thanks @pocpoc there was a hole in the floor that I could open it with. Actually useful to know as we use this as a micro camper.

Looks like I will need to take the big plastic door trim off the inside to fix or replace the lock though as it still won't open from the outside

I will see if I can jiggle it out through the hole first and have a look at the lock and connection. I will have to wait for this storm to pass though
Glad it worked.
If you get a trim fork or similar lever in under the edge of that big inner panel it should just pop off and is probably held on using lantern clips. Check first that there's no obvious hidden screws around the edges.
Clips are probably one of these varieties:

Trim forks (can be found at Amazon/Ebay for a few pounds):

Thanks again, both of those items are easy to find. I did pop the top three off and they went back in but I cannot actually recall what type of clip it was 🙂 I will have a look again later in the week when the weather has settled.
Those trim tools are handy tools to have around for all sorts of things, especially the two pry bars on the right, for prising things open without causing damage. I had one of the cranked ones, but it fell out of a belt pouch at work and I’ve never got around to getting a replacement. I’ve got a steel one, but it’s much more likely to damage something.
Bit of an update and thanks again now I am sorted.
got inside and tested the switch and the lock. Switch was showing a reading on a meter so assumed that was ok and ordered a new lock for £19. Replaced the lock and it didn’t work. Replaced the switch today only £13 but again no joy.
went searching further and found the below in the flex joint between the car and boot hatch. A bit of soldering and taping up and it is all working again. I forgot my wife said she didn’t think her heated screen was working a couple of months ago. Whoops.

Good find. I have Doblo Mk2, so logged in my memory for future.
