I write in a state of despair...
I need to replace a couple of pole sections on a terra nova voyager 2.2 tent, sounds easy enough but...
The pole is a DAC Featherlite one, making it almost impossible to find/buy.
It is an odd length, 510mm to be precise, meaning every website I have found stocking DAC poles don't have that length (max 400mm).
Terra Nova no longer hold complete poles for that tent in stock and don't sell individual sections. I am still waiting to see if any of the polesets they do stock have sections that are 510mm long (so I can buy one and cannibalise it).
Scottish Mountain Gear have the right diameter pole but not the right length...
Lancashire Sports Repair are the same story...
Do I now have a useless tent? Its only 2 years old!!!
Does anyone have any ideas, or EVEN BETTER a bent old pole lying in the corner of the shed with some straight sections I could buy?
Yours in increasingly desperate optimism,
Dicky
Can you buy a complete replacement pole instead of just the sections ?

Alternatively; I've got a spare poleset from a Vango you could have (the fabric perished after some time in storage; poles are all sound) if it would be any use ? I can measure the poles tonight if interested (bog std alu poles mind; none of this posh stuff)
Steve
That will prob be the way I'll go, I can get a DAC pole with a very similar total length (3600mm) from Germany if I buy a load of individual sections and re-use the end caps from the bent pole I've got.
It seems there are as many "standards" in tent poles as there are in bottom brackets and hubs!

There's got to be an answer in that lot.
I have some 510mm alloy poles knocking about. I don't know if they are DAC without checking but they are good quality, from a jack Wolfskin. They are 9.54mm diameter but I have the end pieces so you might be able to use them.
Let me know if they might be of use, but do it quickly as I'm clearing out and they are going to the dump fairly soon. Gratis obvs.
Evening all,
I think I have a solution which involves buying the "wrong" pole for an Ultra Quasar from Terra Nova and then stripping it for the individual sections.
Big hats off to the chaps at Cotswold Outdoors in Bakewell and Islington for kindly opening up their Ultra Quasar stock tents to measure the length of the sections for me! You were frankly a lot more use than TN and I owe you a beer!
I will see how I get on,
Many thanks for the offer sweepy but I think that they will be too wide for the narrow islets on the tent.
and crikey...
Would that it were so simple! There's got to be an answer in that lot.
