Hi all, new to the forum, so thought I'd just introduce myself. (It seems to be the done thing on other forums)

I'm from the Midlands and work in Birmingham. I got into mtb'ing seriously when I was at uni abotu 10yrs ago and rode at Aston Hill. I haven't really ridden for a fair few years, although I built up a downhill bike a couple of years ago I never got a chance to ride it. Starting out again and building up a hardtail for general riding/xc/am stuff.

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell.

😉

Welcome.

Be sure to switch off any sensitivities you have - most of it's just playground banter. 🙂

Oh and don't listen to anything Hora says.

Indeed, welcome 🙂 Try not to get offended when people start arguments with you for the sake of arguing, or rip you to bits for being fat/ginger/ugly when you're posting about an injury - it's all meant in good humour and you can return the favour when you've been here a while 🙂

Thrice welcome - it may take a while to become acclimatised to the humour here, but stick with it & it becomes 2nd nature! I thought the place was a vicious & brutal land to begin with, now it's all warm & cuddly 😆

Quadruple welcome.

Enjoy your stay.

Don't feed the trolls.

Develop a thick skin.

Ignore Hora.

.....that is about it for now.

I don't at the moment. I built up an Uzzi a couple of years ago with the intention of getting back into dh. However, I don't have the time to drive for hours to get somewhere half decent to ride it.

Currently in the process of building up a xc/am hardtail (Kinesis Pha5e with 140mm up front. I've ridden at Cannock a couple of times since moving back up to the Midlands about 4yrs ago. Really need to get into shape. Went from being super fit to being super fat. So for the moment I'll be riding locally to build up my fitness (mainly street and local woods) and possibly Lickey Hills which is about 15mins from me.

How about you?

Hi, there's a bunch of us who ride around the Wyre Forest and also Clent. Lickeys is good for a quick blast but it's a pretty small area (i used to live 200 yards away, now 3 miles) and it's hard work with constant ups and downs. That's about it for 'local' rides as Cannock is a good 45 minute drive up the motorway.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

there's a couple of friendly night rides per week (usually tues and thurs) around the Rubery/lickeys/bromsgrove area, strictly social rides though, currently going from 2 to 4 riders, fat and slow riders always welcome (then we'll all match!)

Excuse my language, but there's always got to be some dickhead got to post something completely pointless, just to try and get a rise out of people who are being helpful/friendly to someone they don't know on the internet!

Anyway...

mysticnas, I'm in Worcester. Tend to drive most places (Cannock, Wyre, Forest of Dean, South Wales) to get to a decent ride, but occasionally go out fairly locally. Occasionally been known to go out with the Ashton MTB lot, though I will admit that I haven't done for a few months now!
