Don't panic, all of you hipster ****s can still get your £200 jeans that you can't wash. You can now also help keep print alive as well!

https://hebtro.co/bother-mag/

(and if you don't like it, it comes with a £20 voucher so is effectively free anyway. Win win!)

Far far far too stylish for me.

They sell an eye wateringly expensive £80 cap, so I appreciate I’m not target market, and they aren’t aiming for my type.  Which is ironic as I was born and brought up in Mytholmroyd.

Bon chance - I hope it works out for them.

Rather fun naming.

Got to wish anyone launching a print mag the best of luck.

I assume it'll have comprehensive coverage of beards and axes?

“a growing unease with social media platforms”

Yeah,, bit cringe, as my teenage daughter would say.

Heh.  I saw this and assumed it would be one of those occasionally published mags you see on lovely thick paper that retail for about £14, in shops that also sell enamel mugs and nice candles.

Then I saw the actual price 😆

Anyway, good luck with it, I do miss the old days of absolutely living for magazines as a teenager.  Between the music mags, the MTB mags and the computer mags, in the mid 90s I was buying 2 a week at times.

I don’t really get the whole Mumford/Worzels crossover tribute band look, but if that’s your thing, then live and let live I say.

I am surprised they haven't started selling artisan coffee yet, or artisan real ale.

I just dont get the clothing. I am sure its very good quality, but it does an amazing job of looking poor fitting and cheap on all their models. Or is that just their desired style? Yeah my £200 jeans might look like cheap Asda ones, but yep fooled you mate, they cost me £200 !!

Next they will be making bikes to go with all over the above, or maybe campervan conversions (only hip looking ones though)

I went to London to visit this week, forgot to pack any trousers so had to borrow a pair off my sister. They were horrible, I thought she'd lent me a pair of asda specials, when I said she told me they cost £150. Looked at the label in disbelief- Hebtroco.

Wearing your sister's jeans is so 2010.

You have to wear your grandad's these days.

Well, rather than do the usual STW: criticise something before actually 'reading riding, owning' one for a bit. I've ordered one, if nothing else just to see what the fuss is. Brant and Ed are always fun and interesting to chat to, so I'll trust them to produce a fun and interesting mag to read.

They used to sell coffee… and it was damn good.

Looking forward to the mag… hope it doesn’t end up being a one off… or has to go online only, like the relaunched Loaded.

I'm just sick of clicking on their stupid massive advert when it finally loads about 0.00001 seconds before I click on the thread I want.

I'm not sure why a grown man would want to dress like a teddy bear but each to their own.

Mag looks good, is full of great stories - People like Norton Motorbikes think it's worth supporting.

I'm biased as I've had something to do with it, but it's also like everything else they do - made here, people get paid proper wages, adds something, doesn't take away, and you don't have to buy it, so what's the problem? What are you doing?

Magazine £20 and voucher for £20 does not mean mag is free.

What it means is mag costs £20 and, if you choose to buy anything from them, that purchase is discounted by £20.

I don't know of any mag which costs £20 and I doubt there's anything in this one which comes close to justifying that 'aspirational' price.

So, it's only worth considering IF you are in the market for any of their products.

I wonder what size print run they have committed to.

singletrackmatt - ooh, touchy

It’s priced at £20 so, much like everything they put their label on, folk will comment on social media ‘’ow much, that ridiculous, you could get a xxxx for that!’ Or words to that effect, more or less sweary with the level of outrage

They will then use that comment as part of an ad campaign.

Hello. I’m brant and I own half of hebtroco and doing a mag was my idea. Though Ed (oxley) who owns the other half came up with the name.

The mag is priced at £20 because there’s a £20 voucher in it. If you can’t stand hebtroco and don’t want anything we make (even a pair of socks or a hat) then you’re unlikely to like the content so I can’t really understand the grumbles, but maybe I’m missing something.

Thanks to the many people who’ve clicked through from Singletrack today to purchase a copy, they’re in the post, and we’re heading to be half way through the 1000 print run in the first day.

We got sick of the constant moaning of arseholes on Facebook so diverted our marketing spend to this nice physical project instead.

Thanks for the interest and comments.

I think maybe you've missed a trick by not including a bit of Jean with this and subsequent issues.

Buy the next 12 issues, assemble your collected bits of Jean, to make a complete pair of Hebtroco jeans!
You can have that for nowt. 🙂👍

The Lovely Eggs are in it. Wonderful 😊

Have any of the people slagging off the quality actually purchased anything from them? I’m guessing not as the quality and fit is good. Comparing them to Asda is laughable. I own a few items from them and the vast majority are great.

I bought some Heb canvas jeans, I like them very much. So much so I bought a pair of as new moleskins in time for summer (****).

Like it or don't but the only thing more boring than self identifying edge lords are folk making sure everyone knows they don't like something.

Having seen the prices of other independent UK made clothing brands HebTroCo don't seem crazily expensive in comparison. Community Clothing are cheaper but not always directly comparable. Nearly every other company I've looked at are more expensive.

If you can afford their stuff buy it and enjoy it. If you can't then buy Tesco or Wrangler jeans and enjoy them.

Taking the piss is normal behaviour, we're mostly cynical Brits on here but abuse is not funny.

Good luck to them

I love Hebtroco but as I only wear long trousers at home or work for December to Feb it seems uneconomic.......unless they last for a long long time I guess but my weight fluctuates so much in winter v summer I'd probably always own the wrong size!

As for the mag, why not. I'm sure a short print run will sell. The articles won't date like a bike/technology mag where the world has moved on by the time it's published.

And people will always need trousers....well apart from me obviously.

Oh and I've ordered the mag just so I get the mag and the voucher. This because I was sent a beanie to review and loved it. Unfortunately so did my GF who's nicked it so I need to buy another so she can give me the £20 so that makes me £40 up surely using man maths?

I have a paid of the moleskins from way back when they started, well made and comfortable but I put weight on so the no longer fit. Most jeans I owed are within the price range of Hebtroco if they’re not it’s because I bought them in a sale.

Probably won’t buy the magazine because I’m unlikely to actual read it so £20 not worth me spending to save £20 should I order some socks.
