We're at Altrincham Market today, if anyone wants to pop over and feel our cloth. Here until 4pm.
Will you be there again? Or any other markets? Can't get over today!
^ needs "touching cloth" gag.
Cold enough to wear my founders' pair today and received a compliment from fellow parent just now. 😀
I've just done an open top bus ride whilst wearing mine looking Cool As ####.

I think we're going to be here tomorrow. It's going quite well and we got invited back.
Do we get a discount?
I did post this in the sale forum ages ago, but seeing as this thread has popped up again I've got a pair of 32's from the Kickstarter that I wish fitted me but don't (I'm between sizes)...
Do we get a discount?
We'll give you a key ring!
How high-waisted are they? on the lower side, or Simon Cowell-esque?
[
We're in London today and tomorrow at the Best Of Britannia event in Victoria House, Bloomsbury Square.
We have lots of trousers and lots of Magic Rock beer in our fridge. Come have a drink on us if you are passing.
london you say? have you put your prices up?
Massive fan of my HebTroCo trousers!
Looking to find a similar company making tweed or similar jackets in the UK
Seen a few outlets but the prices are nuts - can anyone recommend a good place to look?
Thanks

I spotted a poster in a drinking establishment last evening whilst indulging in my monthly fix of aged dairy produce suggesting they're hosting a popup shop on the 27th of this month. Any idea what this will actually be? (other obviously than another reason to go to the pub on a sunday afternoon?)
The nicest trousers I have ever bought. On 3 sets currently and I live in then pretty much all the time.
Their new belts do look lovely too but I am having a hard time spending £150 on one.
Cut out the middle man

Hello. Tomorrow is Major Toms in Harrogate from 1-5pm.
We are taking most of our records and most of our stock. And will be delighted to talk to you about trousers, records, bikes or beer.
Cut out the middle man
Tommy made our ultimate belts for us, and also isn't VAT registered so that helps keep his price down a bit too.
He's working on a new hand forged garrison style belt for us too that isn't an appropriation of his design.
Pretty graceless of you there BnD. 🙄

Nah. We don't offer that model any more for kind of that reason. It got a bit mad when we had sold 35 of them so we stopped and started working on a new model. But then Mike who was making the copper blanks hurt his leg and it got a bit delayed. We'll probably have it ready in a couple of weeks.
The CNC Belt came about because we wanted something a little less aggressive than Tommy's belt. So we drew something for Bentley Components to machine and Ruby does the leather on them.
Those belts are beautiful, but £115-150, far too rich for my blood. I'll carry on making my own, just sourcing some brass keepers at the mo', looking for a heavy, rectangular but round-section buckle and some nice heavy harness leather.
I'm loving my 177's. They are proper comfy and warm for winter walking....buuuuttt.. I don't want to sound like I'm moaning, I know how important the fit is to you guys, but I don't suppose you're considering doing a sightly slimmer cut version at some point!!? I'm not talking skinny, just a little narrower for the lankier wearer
i still need to get my 177s back to you gents to get the patch put on them. a new small human has taken up a lot of my time over the past 2 months, so it got put on the back burner a little...

Trousers now fully vegan. Plans for a vegan belt too.

Richard. You are like the skinniest of the skinniest!
We are going bigger before we are going skinnier. But we will end up with something for everyone.
It's all going fairly well considering it didn't exist a year ago and we just had our best weeks sales ever.
count me in for one (or more) of those belts!
Haha! Can't beat the personal touch
Over £100 for a belt? I fear it's too late, your trousers have already been pulled down 😀
Pretty graceless of you there BnD
Why? Still supporting the craftsman, and it took 2 mins on Google to find him
I suggest you don't go on the lights thread, lots of people suggesting where the same kit can be bought
I'm a 34 waist with a 33-34 leg but often have to buy 36 waist so my thighs have a bit of room and the trousers aren't too tight. This must be common for mtb'ers. Have to keep em up with a belt. It's a real pain. Mrs Inbred says I can only have a pair of 177's if I try them on first! Women's infallible logic strikes again.
Special offers for repeat customers called Tom at major Toms tomorrow? 😉
Got a pair of olive green 177s the other day, but I can't have them until Christmas.
Ooh, when will the bigger style trousers be available? I'm racing snake slim (or I was, 15 years ago, and remain so in my head) but like a fuller trouser!

Working on a design hopefully to launch on 26th January. A year after our Kickstarter. It's being designed in conjunction with Magic Rock Brewing as a trouser for their staff to work in.

We have many cyclists amongst our customers and this doesn't seem to be an issue.
However do measure up as a high street 34 is usually a HebTroCo 36.

I'll buy you a beer.
Yup the skinny part has me wondering on the fit, I wear casual fit jeans and these look a similar style?
Too baggy and I look even Skinner, too slim cut and I look ridiculous.
They are a tapered leg trouser that seem to look good on people from 16 to 73 as far as I've seen so far.
Hope my dad gets to 74 so I can update you on that.

We are on Facebook too if that helps. Cheers!

Starts growing beard and quaffing ale

Yeah I've seen them on you and while you're not quite as thin as me you're build is similar.
Tempted for Xmas

At current sales rates which are massively outstripping production rates we are due to run out of trousers in a week and a half. Get an order in if you want some!
That's great to hear for you and Ed.
Going to hunt out my Diesel jeans as they fit best to measure up.
Cheers.
Next year, you could hire more temporary staff in anticipation of busy retail periods.
The skills must still exist in Trouser Town

Next year we will have a years trading experience to understand the seasonality along with support from our bank to allow us to invest in stock at quieter times. That we are still trading is a wonderful thing and thanks for the support from many on here. Cheers. Off to pack the van and head to Harrogate.
Done.

Hi Zel - waves
Identify your target market.
You need to make your wife works visible.
Show some samples or physically show work samples at the open market etc
Advertise the quality and the "artisan" side of your product.
Advertise it as hand Made in the UK. (this is to justify your cost and to gain local support)
Since your wife is doing the production she cannot be at many places at once, you should help out your wife by establishing web presence etc.
If you charge premium price then make sure you have premium guarantee i.e. life time guarantee whatever technicality you have but Never try to twist words coz customers will not come back. If they are just normal wear and tear then just repair for them and people will come back for more.

Show your products (wife's work) on STW so we have more things to buy from.
Brant has plenty of web forum connections and so he is able to pull in customers relatively easily.
Why is it graceless?
I don't see anything wrong with the pants. If they last 10yrs they represent good value.
🙂 I think you misunderstand, I'm hoping she'll buy some trousers. She is very scary at what she does but it isn't marketing. I've got some friends who have tried to get a small clothes manufacturing thing going and they do okay but Brant's skilz are awesomeYou need to make your wife works visible.
Chewkw what are you waffling on about now?

I thought (misread) leffeboy was needing some ideas with his start up so gave him some ideas.
I just want to see more successful businesses that's all and if I can help why not eh.
Yes, he has all the skills because he has been selling stuff for many years now so naturally he is good at it.I've got some friends who have tried to get a small clothes manufacturing thing going and they do okay but Brant's skilz are awesome
The pair I got from the original kickstarter are quite simply the best trousers I have ever owned; and they are getting better.
@Inbred456 - re the waist and thigh issue. I'm exactly the same as you and, as brant says, a 36" HebTroCo waist is bang on.
Ah right. You had me confused I thought you meant Brant. 😆

A video about our first year is now live here:- http://hebtro.co/welcome-to-trousertown/
Full marks for effort, a really worthy enterprise.
excellent effort lads, well done.
im not really your target market, but i can see the quality and effort involved and wish you all the best.
grey pair of 177s here - very comfortable, really well made. My only preference for a fit revision, would be a little more room in the front, as i find the pockets only useful for a car key or small change. And id prefer a good inch and a half off the height of the waist band.
Custom fit trousers for the future!?!?!
Did I see somewhere that next up for you guys was starting a brewery or did I imagine that?
I'll measure up the waist of my bestest fit jeans and see what they really are. I really like the look of the 177's.
My Brant pants are in their way.
Cheers chaps. 😉
Oops! 😳
Got me blue and grey 177s and some [s]beige[/s] tan C60s.
Brown C60s next. Pretty much live in Brant and Eds keks now...

Oof! That's one way to afford them 😆 😀

Your Facebook review suggests you like them. Cheers.
Brant, they fit perfectly waist, leg the lot. Lovely cut, comfy and well made.
I had my doubts I must admit but there was no need what so ever. I'll be looking at ordering some more at a later date.
Go on then, I'll be that person. Isn't this all a bit advertisy now?
HebTroCo is well past kickstarter, getting established, doing well and knocking out near full capacity by all accounts - all wonderful.
Just seems at odds with da rulez around these parts for normo members 🙂 .
Maybe they could become a Trusted Partner or something.
Responding to a post is not against the rules.
If Brant or Ed were to start a thread about their trousers then it would deleted.
Isn't this all a bit advertisy now?
No.

Hello. Am I allowed to say that?
Maybe you two should start making hand bags as well!!
We are launching our HebTroFannyPack in the New Year
Any news on the more office friendly trousers you were looking at making?
