Flying from Heathrow T5 at Easter for a little break and parking prices have shot up since last time we used the airport.
I have tried the usual 'discount' sites - Purple Parking, Holiday Extras, etc - but even their prices are silly.

Anyone got any decent discount codes or tips for where to park, please?
It will be for 5/6 days.

Meet and greet. Bit more expensive, but worth every penny for convenience and speed of arrival and collection. You’ll never look back.

I now use a limo service from Bristol. It’s cheaper than fuel and parking.

Where are you starting from? We are 25 minutes away, and it often works out cheaper to get a taxi both ways rather than a weeks parking

You will if your car racks up hundreds of miles, speeding tickets and damage in your time away.

Too many horror stories now about M&G firms - even the supposed reputable ones. I'm fairly sure my car at Gatwick did some "extra" mileage although foolishly I hadn't got photos of the odo before leaving it. However it wasn't where they said it would be, had to go back to the office and report that no, my car was not in Bay 4, where the hell was it. A guy brought it round about 30 mins later. Hmmm.

Park a few miles away - see if there's a driveway for rent somewhere - and then get a taxi in. Or Elizabeth Line, that's brilliant if you're coming from central London.

My family use our drive a few times a year. There are local places you can park and bus into T5. I can’t imagine M&G from Purple Parking are so bad - they put their cars in Hayes compound by the gas store. There are a few other less reputable (cheap) ones that just park cars in streets, or in our local case, a field on the edge of the village.

I’m four miles from T5. I think I know the area pretty well. 😉

Train. Especially with the new Elizabeth line, it is dreamy getting to Cambridge.

@ayjaydoubleyou @politecameraaction
Coming from South Wales. Just 2 of us.

Fancied letting the train take the strain, but over £240 for the two of us!

I’ve used MBW Parking hundreds of times, never had a problem, call as soon as you have your luggage from the belt, and the cars normally already there. Book via Purple parking and get 6-10% cashback, just don’t give Purple parking your phone number.

Park for free on the street a couple of tube stops away. Tube to the local area is free. Job jobbed

Interested in a good solution for this too! Usually fly from Bristol but have a Heathrow flight in the summer with bike bags. So many of the meet & greet outfits look like total cowboys & the on-site parking reviews are horrific!

I used to use the National Express Airport Bus from Cardiff when I lived in South Wales to go to Heathrow. Pretty good service, picks up in Newport as well as Cardiff.

Had a look at National Express but that is over £100 return and by the time we add on taxis from/to home it will be nearer £150.

Airports/boroughs are more than wise to this trick now - it loses airports parking revenue, it clogs up neighbouring boroughs so they've worked pretty closely to make it really difficult - parking permits, limited parking zones etc all combined with militant residents who hate "their" streets becoming de facto dumping zones.

I wouldn't risk it - too much chance of coming back to find your tyres slashed or something.
