Don't know if such a thing exists - I'm looking for inexpensive heat shrink tape. I've used heat shrink tubing in the past, like this from Amazon.
I now need to repair a cord that has connectors at either end which are too big to slip the tubing over (and the cord hasn't been fully cut in the middle - I'm repairing a tear). I see heat shrink tape on Amazon, but it's something like £20 for a roll. Is there a cheaper option?
Self-amalgamating tape? Or maybe liquid electrical tape. Both to be had on ebay.
self-amalgamating tape +1
really useful stuff and leaves a clean finish if applied tightly
Maplin sell various sizes and lengths of heatshrink in small packs for a few quid.
Alternatively, if there's only a small number of wires within the cord and you've got access to a soldering iron, cut it, slip some heatshrink over, and do a decent job of reconnecting them.
Thanks all - I'll try the self amalgamating tape, haven't used that before.
