Yeah, didn't think that through; probably not such a healthy choice.

Cycling, anything else depends.

Cooking with a popular recreational herb can be pleasant, even better learn to make chocolate truffles and then add a certain popular recreational herb to the truffle mix.

No smoke damage.

Laughter is cheap as well. Re-runs of Father Ted or Spaced do it for me.

Can you not get them to prescribe you some codeine?

You'll need some prune juice to go with it though.

Edit: If not, I suggest this - it's like crack to me at the moment.

Books... Was in a similar position this time last year after breaking collarbone, sternum and a few ribs.

Ordered a stack of books and made the most of my time laid up.

Don't fall into the Jeremy Kyle trap - it's a 'gateway drug'... Before you know it you'll be cutting up pop bottles with your penknife and bonging your days away with Alpin 😉

PS. Get well soon... The odd Tramadol rinsed down with a can of Stella can be a rather pleasant distraction from the constant pain. 🙂

Eating Cannabis is physically pretty harmless; far less so than drinking alcohol. Effects can be pretty strong though, especially if you're not used to it. It becomes far more psychoactive if eaten rather than smoked. So, potentially not good if you suffer with mental health issues/anxiety/depression etc. It can be very enjoyable indeed, though. And nowhere near as intense as LSD. Which itself, is physically pretty harmless. As are 'magic' mushrooms (although they can give you a bit of an upset tummy).

What do you want to take the 'edge' off though? I'd say using drugs to help with dealing with something negative, is a bad idea really. If you feel the 'need' for something, I'd suggest seeking professional advice from a doctor or psychiatrist/psychologist, before delving into drug use.

Bollocks.
Bike related?

I was on codeine initially and various crap for six weeks at Christmas.
Interesting for a few days, but horrible after a while.
Prescription painkillers just make you feel rancid.

Dope slows down your perception of time, so don't bother - you'll feel like your in bed for ever.
🙂

Kindle/Tablet and some good cycling books.
Lego.
Nintendo Wii and some good games.
Chess.
Naked ladies.
New bikes?

I'd learn to lace wheels up.

Dope n drugs are only going lengthen your recovery when it comes to getting back on as you'll need to work them out your system as well as building back the fitness, it'd be 2 things for your body to deal with.

Yes plenty. Its water vapour (harmless) with varying amounts of nictoine (inc zero which mrs B now uses). Nictoine is addictive but not harmful.

Yes plenty.

Links, please, if you have any to hand. Something definitively conclusive would be good as I've yet to find anything worthwhile.

Edit : Also, I was under the impression it contains oils as well as water, which doesn't sound particularly harmless to me.

"Nictoine is addictive but not harmful."

Is this a fact? Or is it a Jambafact?

Not harmful? Ok...

Whether nicotine comes from smoke, chew, or use of newer e-cigarettes or dissolvable tobacco, nicotine affects each user in the same ways. Let’s break down the body and see how nicotine impacts individual parts:
Brain: Nicotine disrupts normal neurotransmitter activity, causing chemical changes and addiction. Other neurological symptoms caused by nicotine include light-headedness, sleep disturbance, dizziness, and tremors.
Heart and Arteries: Nicotine increases heart rate and raises blood pressure when it stimulates the release of adrenaline. Short term, this means your body is less efficient when you exercise. It has to work harder getting the blood and oxygen to cells that need it, preventing the body from reaching its maximum potential. Long term, the stress on the heart and arteries can lead to increased risk of heart attack and can even lead to a stroke and/or aneurysm.
Eyes: Nicotine reduces the ability to see at night by stopping the production of pigments in the eyes specially designed for low-light vision. Adrenaline released by nicotine reduces peripheral vision, and in the end, nicotine accelerates the degeneration of the eyes.
Metabolism: Nicotine increases calories burned but decreases endurance by wasting energy in the effort. So, while nicotine users may have the energy to sprint down the block, they won't have the maximum lung or heart capacity to get their best score on a PT running test or maybe even to finish the all-night trek with their unit.
Reproductive System: Nicotine prohibits proper blood circulation and is a leading cause of erectile dysfunction (impotence) for men under 40. Nicotine also increases the risk of infertility and miscarriage. And if babies exposed to nicotine in utero do make it to birth, they tend to have low birth weights, be born prematurely, and have increased risk for lung problems.
Bones: When used over time, nicotine alters cellular structures and has been found to increase risk for fractures while contributing long-term to the development of weakened bones (osteoporosis).

Except it's not water vapour is it? Only the dumb public assume that vape=water vapour.

The liquid is a mix of Propylene Glycol and Glycerine, how harmful that mix may be or not is another debate.

You are unlikely to need both of these after a few days on the codeine.

Or was the bog roll for, ahem... you know?

WTF!

Do you really think it's just water vapour?

A whole load of toxic chemicals dissolved in a solvent more like.

clod can you do caffeine next ta

Harmless is a relative descriptor in terms of psychoactive substances - FWIW coffee had to be exempted form the legal high banning legislation or it would have fallen foul

6 weeks with no weight bearing at all, then another 5 weeks before pot removed.

just trawling through the menkind website, for something entertaining to buy.

In your state, Ton, you don't want to take anything that is going to get your heart pumping and your legs twitching....

Hash cakes would be OK, but as said it can be quite intense depending on how much hash is in there, the strength of it, your metabolism and whether or not you have eaten much prior.

Last time i had a hash brownie I stood looking at the corner of the room with tools in my hand for half an hour trying to remember what it is I was meant to be doing.... This was on a job. Wasn't my smartest move.

Also more fattening. But less likely to make holes in your clothes, unless you're a really bad baker.

I remember going to my diabetic outpatient's clinic one time, when I was maybe 15 or 16... I'd already been given the Diabetics and Alcohol chat so when the nurse sat me down and said "So we need to tell you about drugs and diabetes too" I thought I knew what was coming. What I got was "Weed's no different for you than for everyone else but you mustn't smoke it, smoking and diabetes will **** you up." Ok cheers doc, Just Say No, I get it. So she carries on "So if you don't have time to do brownies, crisp it up just like you're rolling a joint then crumble it into a yoghurt. Better for you and you get a way smoother high". "Uh, cheers!

That was before all this friendly bacteria stuff though, god knows what happens when you get a yakult stoned.

Maybe sign up for a remote learning course, learn a language that kind of thing?

To be honest though, if I needed to just kill time I'd either sign up to Netflix and catch up with all the highly-rated telly I've missed or do what I did last time I have a broken leg, get a games console.

May I suggest a PS4 or XBOX and the Witcher 3 + expansions, seriously seriously good, brilliant story telling and actually very good value entertainment on an hourly basis.

The trouble with recreational drugs is they can become a lifestyle that's hard to snap out of. But if that's what you need to stop you crawling up the walls, so be it, I can't judge, not in your shoes.

Jeez, that takes me back! Cosmic Yogurts!

I would suggest a games console PS4 or XBox, along with something for your pain and discomfort, that is all you really need.

Computer programming saw me through three months last year. Time disappears when coding. A bit like reading a really good book. Lego Mindstorm for some pointless fun.
