I'm heading up to Tarbert,Kintyre next weekend to drop my parents off and I am staying up there for the week.

Any recommendations for cycling routes and/or walking routes, I will be taking the gravel, not the mtb.

I have ordered the OS map for the area, but I thought it might be good to get some suggestions, cheers!

The Wild About Argyll route passes through Tarbert, since it was developed in association with the council it visits most points of interest. Just noticed that there's a new "Scenic" route about to be promoted - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-57170602

You could pop over to Islay, Jura or Gigha.

There's the fire tower trail up in lochgilphead, only done it once about ~8 years ago but I remember it being fairly dull on a full sus so it might be good on a gravel bike.

The road round the peninsular north of Tarbet ( Mid argyle?) is a delight the b8024 Proper "road with character" ie grass up the middle. there is also a gravel route we rode thru knapdale another further north and Killmartin for neolithic remains is not far away - fantastic site with more than you can walk round in a day. Chambered cairns, stone circles, cup and ring rocks - ie our ancestors doing inexplicable things with rocks

there is an offroad route south from tarbet to skipness but i didn't ride it. That can be made into a loop with another wee road

Lovely part of the world.

Can’t find the online leaflet we used when there but found

The Crinan canal is a truly lovely bimble (head to crin an, used to be a cafe at basin, also hotel), we did the ardnoe and faery isles loop but Scotland tourism has removed the link,

Go to bing in os mode, just s and w of crinan see track along forested coast , we’ve done that from tavallich and the non technical mrs managed it on an mtb easily

Ahh

You've picked your timing, you've just missed the Scottish Series regatta, which was 28-30th may.
So it shouldn't be too busy now and at least be able to get a beer in the Victoria.

Sorry can't help on the surrounding area, was only there sailing so only know all the bars 😆
