For those of us with not much hair - anyone tried the Trim Pod 2.0? Looking at trying a head shaver and this loooks OK, has more heads than the skull shaver and a fair bit cheaper....
Anyone any experience of them?
Sorry I can't help, but I have a question too....
Do all head shavers just clean shave it to the skin, or can you adjust the cut at all?
The reason I ask is I just use a pair of clippers on the shortest blade setting and would prefer that than clean shaven, but with the ease of a head shaver so I'm not so likely to miss any bits. I'm not ready for the full shiny Kojak look.
I'm looking for the same as longdog. I've not found one yet and am using clippers.
I went from clippers on zero to a Remington RX5 head shaver. Easier to use, but only one setting - down to the wood! Embrace it, within a day or two at most you have head stubble equivalent to zero on the clippers
Babyliss crew is the clipper equivalent of a shaver.
down to the wood!
@blokeuptheroad - How down to the wood is it really?
I've only used a cheaper amazon head shaver before but it left me with stubble and struggled to cut my hair if I left it a few days, some of my hair is still quite thick. Not the top bit though... I wet shave now, so its REALLY down to the bone, does the remington get any where near wet shaving shiny/smoothness?
I use some Whall clippers with a 0.2mm blade if I've left it too long to straight wet shave, but even that leaves stubble, I just can't imagine the remington takes it all off, unless you only have whispy bum fluff!!
Babyliss crew cut, £35 on Amazon. Bought! Cheers 👍
Remington is a shaver, all gone, just like a rotary shaver for the face. Shiny.
It doesn’t cope with longer hair, so first time or after a four day gap it needs clippers first.

As above, shiny. No stubble. Probably not quite as shiny smooth as with a wet razor, but pretty damn close. It does take a few passes though and also as above, if you leave it a few days you need to pre cut with clippers. Every other day and there's no need for that.
Bulldog one here - silver version, maybe gold - not sure.
It's part of morning shower routine, seems to like a bit of damp and soap.
Just about to buy it a 2nd replacement head - roughly one a year.
And as said, if you leave it 4 or 5 days, you probably need to get the clipper/trimmers out again beforehand.
Sweet, cheers all. Might invest, even if only for holidays.
Wet razor, either Gillette or safety razor if I'm feeling frisky & Wahl balding foil shaver works for me.
Had the Skull Shaver for a while, very expensive foil replacements.
Obviously I'm sporting the Kojac look. Any shouts for post shave skincare?

can’t comment on the trim pod 2. But I bought one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CRDR3ZZ3/ref=pe_27063361_485629781_TE_item?th=1&psc=1 a few months ago after not wanting to spend big on this and it’s bloody brilliant, as close as I’ve ever seen from an electric shaver. Like the design and usb-c to charge. Better than the Panasonic I was using, which did give the close crew cut look some were after above.

I just use a normal moisturiser with SPF. Think I have bulldog at the moment but my wife bought me a Cerave one that was really nice.
Remington RX7 user here. I used to clipper with a beard trimer on zero, but made the decision a month or so ago to go the whole hog. Genuinely easy and fast. I use it in the shower cos it's convenient, but it's just as close used dry.
The RX7 has a turbo switch for anything longer than a couple of days' growth. A word of caution though, don't be tempted to use it on your neck.
I have had a Braun series 3 for about 5 years. Works well dry or wet - usually shave head once a day, but sometimes twice. Recharge razor once a week. Foil/replacement head lasts about a year. I use nivea aftershave lotion (alcohol free version).
I’ve used a Headblade for years and got fed up of the expense. Bought the Remington and it’s good. Can shave your hair anywhere. Doesn’t get as close as the Headblade but is cheaper, quicker, less mess and more convenient. I miss the smoothness of the Headblade but can live without it for the convenience.
I have a very cheap beard trimmer (about a tenner from Asda) and I use that with no guards...I'm guessing it is just under 0.5mm and seems to work. Leaves hair but as I'm almost all grey it glints in certain lights!!!
Hair clippers with no guard is too long, but I don't want completely smooth yet.
myself and @joshvegas have been evangelical about the Babyliss Crew Cut for years on the regular slaphead threads. Total gamechanger. As for post bonce-shaving…

I took delivery of the Crewcut yesterday, great bit of kit and will do the job perfectly. Nice and cheap on Amazon too! Thanks Guys!
Proper Wahl clippers here. Used with no blade guide. Now so old that they've practically amortised to zero cost per shave.
If you’re going to the bone I’d recommend the ManCave (shit name) spf20 moisturiser and a hat.

My proper Wahl... erm.. dog clippers are even better value per cut than yours as I got them free off my brother when they decided to go to a groomer for their dog 🤣
They're still fine, but the crewcut is much more convenient as I can do it outside and it's easier to get the base of my neck. It's also a bit closer cut.
I noticed yesterday Aldi have a shaver in their middle shelf that looks a bit like a bulldog shaver with three rotary blades, iirc they were about £30.
will someone be a love and buy one and feedback if they’re any good or not? Ta
Babyliss crew cut, £35 on Amazon
£51.99 at present 🫤
Walowiz - can’t comment on the trim pod 2. But I bought one of these
Cheers walowiz, just bought one, for £33 it’s almost the same price as spare Blades for my Philips one blade. and as the blades only last 1 month before needing changing I figure it’s worth trying out that head shaver.
For the cheap Amazon doao shaver can you get replacement blades? Also ant recommendations for very short, around 0.2mm, clippers? Most of the ones you find are 0.5 or so. Cheers
