Now down to three finalists including a three touch control, skin the defender and volley into the net without letting the ball bounce scored by Irish international striker Stephanie Roche for Peamount United and also a couple of slightly lesser strikes by relative unknowns Van Persie and Rodriguez.
Given FIFA's constant and ongoing support for fair play and equal opportunities wouldn't it be great if Ireland triumphed?

It's an incredible goal.
Vote placed!
Voted for RVP. I though the Cahill goal should have made the final
Voted for Roche
Roche was a decent effort, but nowhere near the best goal.
In true FIFA spirit, I voted for one that didn't actually score a goal, but who paid (via an intermediary) for my children to attend private school.
It is a good goal but I don't think goal of the year can be against Wexford Youths. You see similar one off, crazy goals in Sunday leagues and on the training ground. A top class goal needs to be against top class defense.
I presume it is a publicity stunt and seems to he working.
