Whilst annoying they were in the correct lane for carrying straight on, it looks like a split lane, outside lane for going left / inside lane for striaght on. Not the sort of road I'd be choosing to ride on personally for exactly that reason, seeing as it can lead to this sort of conflict.
Not the worst punishment pass you will ever see but , as cyclists, obviously it's hard to see where the hate comes from and other road user, especially in trucks, need to appreciate how vulnerable we are and trat us accordingly
