Looked for a thread, but couldn't find one.

I'm 3 episodes in so far, and it's really, really good!

Set in a parallel universe the Greek gods actually exist.

Jeff Goldlum as Zeus (amazing!) and lots of other great actors.

Whether you know your Greek mythology or not it's still excellent, and I'm trying not to binge watch it. One episode a night with a glass of wine 🙂

Another excellent series I just finished is Scavenger's Reign (also on Netflix) which is genuinely the best and most interesting sci-fi I've watched in years.

I fell asleep during the 1st episode which is always my marker for watching the rest

I had a seen a 5 star review, but didn't read it to avoid spoilers. I was willing to give it a go for Goldblum alone.

I watched the first couple last night, and it didn't really hook me.

There was a writeup in last month's SFX.  It sounds great.

As others say, watched half the first episode, because any show that has Jeff Goldblum playing Jeff Goldblum is usually worth a watch, but it wasn't grabbing me, i'll watch the other half tonight and see where it's going, it is colourful and has a decent cast, lots of British actors who've been around for a while and good to see in a glitzy show, just need to watch it!

Saw the SFX piece. Seemed positive. Haven't yet watched Kaos but I did finish Kleo Season 2 over the weekend. That was lots of fun.

I also tried it because of the SFX write up. Too much narration, but maybe aimed at Americans  who have zero knowledge of other countries, let alone their religions. "Krete" appears to be America anyway!

MrsF enjoying it as I was working. No point me trying catching up - 10 minutes of it and I was lost mid season.

Wife was watching it. Not my taste, it's getting a bit weird. Geoff is good though, pretty much the same character he played in one of the Avengers/Thor films.

Came for Roger Waters content. Netflix recommendations without Roger Waters  are a better outcome tbh.

Music's great

Great casting, "Jeff Goldblum playing Jeff Goldblum" is fine if it suits the character, which in Ep1 seems to be the case

Interesting perspective on what was dry as dust at school; time will tell

We watched the first one, I enjoyed it, Mrs P wasn't as keen but I'm hoping she'll be up for carrying on, similar is occurring with Sunny on Apple TV.

Kaos soundtrack is great, someone is having a good time picking tunes.

Watched first one yesterday as the weather was crap, not bad at all nice theme to it but a little like a tame American gods. Agreed the soundtrack is very good. I’ll continue to watch it but not today as the sun is back.

I like a bit of Greek meth me and I'm enjoying the contempory adaption.

I  guess that was done to make it more accessible, but Im not sure it will hit its mark. I'd like to watch it with the wife too but I know she's not enjoy it.

As good as some of the charters are, they are too "comic book" to have any empathy for.

I'm 2 or 3 episodes in, so I'm hoping that will change.

I’d seen brief bits of trailers, but I didn’t know what the actual plot was, just that Goldblum was in it. I’ve fairly recently read a trilogy by Claire North on the same sort of subject, that is events set on Ithaca after Odysseus left with every man of fighting age, leaving his wife Penelope alone to look after the island. In the background are various gods seeking to influence events for their own purposes.

I knew very little about Greek history and mythology of that period, but with that background to help, I might check out Kaos.

I've seen good reviews of it, added it to the list. Had a dreadful thought last night that it could be like The Good Place - which also got 5 star reviews but was mostly pretty meh with some (too rare) moments of hilarity (S2 E3 or thereabouts was the high point)

It's like a Greek-American Breaking Bad then?

Not seen Breaking Bad but rather like The Boys but a milder version. Quite dark.

Watched the entire thing and while it was very good to start with, I felt it kind of waned towards the last couple of episodes to the point they became a bit of a chore

yeah, watched the first four episodes, and whilst I've enjoyed them & think it's very well done with some great performances, it just hasn't grabbed me at all. Doesn't have that "got to watch the next episode" factor! I'll probably finish it off though.

Stephen Fry’s three part book series on Greek gods and heroes is quite entertaining, this might be done in similar tone?
I wonder how earnestly ancient people believed in these stories, the Greek gods were quite cheeky bunch and could be used as scapegoats for many unlikely events.

as earnestly as (some) people believe the more (relatively) modern stories, I have no doubt!
