SportPursuit that is. I can't get my head around their sums!

So I order 2 items, both £30.
Postage is £5
I use a discount code for £5
Total = 60

I send one £30 item back. They refund me £30 minus the £5 discount code
So £25.

Doesn't that mean I've now paid £35 for the 1 item I've kept? And my discount code has gone *pfft*?

What was the criteria of the £5 discount ?

e.g £5 off if you spend £50 and over... etc.

I've consulted with my 8 year old and he has confirmed that your calculations are, indeed, correct.

Yes.

Unless they've also re-instated the discount code?

Nope, discount code no longer on the site.
No criteria on the code, it's just a referral bonus.

Thanks, I'll ask em 🙂

No, it means you paid £30 unless they took another £5 off you.

FWIW I've used the referrals without a minimum spend before so get on to them and they will probably just apply it.

Correct but as tish pointed they've charged you £5 postage.

I'd email them ask them about it.

In my experience their customer service is excellent. Drop them an email, I'm sure that they'll sort it out.

If it was your company and you offered a discount if the customer bought 2 items, they did, then returned one of the items, then would you still apply the discount?

No, the discount was £5 for 2 items so discount is £2.50 per item. They've conned you out of £2.50.

I think you should be.

If it was your company and you offered a discount if the customer bought 2 items, they did, then returned one of the items, then would you still apply the discount?

Yes, the discount applies to the other item. I could've bought it separately and only used the discount code for the non-returned item.

I have asked them. They are usually pretty good. I'll say I'll never buy from them again and they'll give me a free trolley dash I reckon.

I'm properly on the outrage bus now: it was a referral reward with no other qualifiers?

If you return an item purchased using Account Credit, SportPursuit will issue the refund as an Account Credit of the same value used, with the remainder due refunded to your payment card or PayPal or Amazon account (as applicable), where part payment was made via your payment card or PayPal or Amazon account.

Have you got £5 now on your account credit?

No, the discount was £5 for 2 items so discount is £2.50 per item. They've conned you out of £2.50.

Depends how it's applied. Some get proportionally applied, some on the whole order value.

Yes, but the question is whether they have charged you £35 (not in dispute, I agree with 8yo maths) but also converted your voucher / code into an £5 account credit that you can use at a later date. £35 - £5 = £25 + £5 postage.

I can see both sides, would have been good to apply the credit to the item you kept, and refund you the full amount for the item you returned.

OTOH, if you bought one item for £30 - £5 voucher, and then returned it would you expect to be given £30 'cash' back; seems reasonable it goes back to whence it came and maybe their system just does this automatically.

Anyway, didn't you get a mug, that must be worth at least a fiver given the size of the ****

the answer to your question

genuinely can't see anywhere where you state you haven't been refunded £25 to your card and £5 to your SP account balance. Their terms state that's how it's going to work on refunds with codes/referall bonuses etc...

Are you trying to say no you haven't?

Sorry cp, was trying for brevity, cos someone already asked that.

You asked: "Have you got £5 now on your account credit?"

Aha, I thought you meant there was some codes listed on their site and it's now not... rather than £5 credit in your SP account.

mug
SportPursuit, not Sports Direct.

Ah, who's the giant mug now! 😳

(I thought you'd escaped a massive flaming for buying from Ashley.

I also wondered if you'd bought two £30 items, which must actually be worth about £7 bn before discounts are applied, why you were complaining about a fiver 😉 )

I always thought SportsDirect's model was more like to charge £7 for items worth £30 (or sold for £30 elsewhere anyway) 🙂

It worked:

Hi me,
"The £5-points have been added back to your SportPursuit account to spend on a future order."

Anyone want a referral code? 😉

They did it again! I had to beg for my fiver discount back again... I got it, but that's not the point.
Any other SportPursuit customers experienced this?
