After lying in bed last night thinking about all the stwers I've had the pleasure of riding with over the years, it seemed better than counting sheep.
The conclusion was many, in fact so many, it's probably about 300 or so.

Once in Hawes, a chap approached me and declared he knew me and had been mtbiking with myself and a few others. I didn't have a clue who he was. But it was nice to be recognised.

Come on own up, don't be shy, have I ridden with you, where and when? :0)

Unless it was a singetrack ride lead by Peter Poddy and Cinnamon Girl in the Chilterns or a Very muddy New Years ride in the Cotswolds where we were on the Tandem, both many years ago, then no. But never say never.

Not I.

Interesting thread though. The only person I've ridden with from here was a chap called Trekster, can't recall his real name.

Nice bloke he was too, I'm sure it was at Mabie mibbe 10+years ago. In fact there must have been more from this parish there that day.

I'm a lone wolf you see, always have been. I prefer it that way.😬

I think so, a very well attended Peaks Pootle about 10 years ago, mustered at Edale car park, debrief at The Rambler. Tables outside, Hora had the biggest plate of chips I've seen in a pub, or maybe I was just very hungry from the ride. Didn't nbt or pook put up a load of pics or vids on here? You could do a roll call from that, there must have been near 50 there.

Not knowingly.

But every time I see a MTBer pass me round here I wonder if they're a forum member. We should have lanyards or something.

I wonder the same and when chatting to a few have asked them if they are on STW, and generally get a blank look. I assume anyone into bikes is on STW though.

How could you not be?!

Unless you’ve done a Jennride organised by @tang, it’s unlikely. The two of those that I have been on did introduce me to a lot of other STWers and it was nice to have some sort of bond prior to going out riding.

Maybe not much to say, but I’m always happy to go out for a ride if people are in Stockholm and maybe more generally Sweden. Just let me finish getting my rear wheel fixed. Oh, and wait for the White Death and the pandemic to go away, that might be a plan.

Nope and I haven't ridden with any other STWers either to the best of my knowledge. In fact the only person in my group of riding buddies who ever mentions STW is me so the assumption that people into bikes must be on the form is erroneous.

All of my current riding buddies were met on a forum though, just not this one.

I have had " you are tandemjeremy" shouted at me by strangers a couple of times when out riding which is a bit odd to say the least

I don't know? I've ridden with many lovely people, who I know to be on STW, but don't know any of their forum names.

I alos have a circle of friends (who I've not seen in a year+) of whom I know all their names but they're pretty quiet on STW.

Aw thanks Esme - likewise.
Waves to everyone who I've ridden with.

Postierich - we have ridden together at an event. We also had breakfast with your family in a a pop up bar (when Imogen was very young).

MartynS - Stalking myself and nbt since 2002

DezB - Nope not me.

Edit - or is the correct grammar - 'waves to everyone with whom I've ridden?' :o)

Was that the one we lost about 3 people in the first KM? 🙂

@badlywireddog - I think you were on one of the rides I was on with Jane/Julian. We were taking photos of some quality mincing over a stream somewhere. Can't find them now.

Long time ago, I may be confusing that with the time you were a) testing the theory you could get potassium poisoning from eating too many bananas and/or b) swapping your stem half way round a ride 🙂

Alex - that was in the Peak District on Middle Moor. Quite gnarly steps descending into a stream, then a quick up to get out. Yes BWD was there. We rode the field of Doom.

Was that the much hyped photo ride, the one where someone ended up crashing like dog on the small ford above Rowarth? But yes, I remember that one. NBT took a nice snap of me riding down the steps into the stream on Middle Moor. It made me look almost competent 🙂

It was not the much hyped photo ride where Sheldon (Tollah) crashed, I don't think Alex made that one - it was the C1XV weekender in the Edale YHA where we rode (as far as I can tell from photos I've found) out over Rushup edge to Hayfield, over Middle Moor and back down Jacob's Ladder. August '04 in fact (Photo ride was Aug '12). I'll post some pics later of the C1XV weekender later. PIcs of the photo ride here
