Well, more accurately, have our kids killed our tent?
Our girls are having a sleepover so they put the huge 8-man family tent up yesterday whilst it was dry (and TBF did a great job) however I checked it later on after I had finished work and it turned out they had put the outer on inside out (fortunately it is an inner-first construction) and just as I noticed it, the heavens opened. So 10 minutes later of rushing around and we managed to get it back on correctly however by now the outer was wet inside and out and the inner was also wet. Overnight it has leaked further as it has been raining but it is clearing up now and we are drying it out a bit today using a powerful blower (from a bouncy castle).
Is it likely to have completely goosed it or should it be okay once dried? (It was never 100% watertight as it is getting on a bit, but it was much worse than normal).

fabric has wetted out from the inside - same as your jacket does in excess activity - then it passes water

I was worried that the inside of the outer skin got wet it might have compromised the long-term performance of it. Apparently that's not the case though so all is good.

Also some of the seems may well have acted as gutters forcing water though the seems and once that happens its likely to continue even post reversal until it dries.

It was all very comedic – me running around with a complete stress on in a complete downpour, then our girls' friend got stung by a wasp as our dinner was burning away in the oven – my poor wife didn't know what to do or where to turn 😂😂😂😂
And no, thankfully it wasn't recorded.
