Take the humble sausage. A pack from a supermarket with be full of left overs and an adult would probably need half the pack to feel satisfied

Sausages are often made from things like lips, cheeks and noses. This is actually good meat but no-one would buy it cos it looks unpleasant.

Cheaper prices, free parking, more choice.... What's not to love? I'd rather do my shopping in one place that has what I want rather than march from shop to shop and make do.
In fact we've freed ourselves an hour a week and get it delivered from the net. I can now spend my limited free time doing something fun. It's the future.
