I moved from East London to Haslemere at the tail end of last year. It has been fun discovering the abundant amount of decent riding straight out of my front door. I've been recovering from a few broken bones (It's tougher both physically and psychologically at 41!) and as such it's taking a while to get back to riding at the level I'd like to be, however I'm now keen to stop riding solo amongst the hills and meet a few more local riders.

A quick search of the Singletrack forums reveals a few historic threads about regular riding social groups locally... are folks aware of many of these still existing?

Hi there, you could try the Dorking cocks.  They ride Saturday morning 0930 from the Clunkers Cafe in Dorking and Wednesday evening 1830 from the same location.   They ride to all the trails across the surrey hills and have a formidable knowledge of all trails from XC to extremely gnarly.

There’s a few Facebook group worth a try. MTB Fanatics do regular group rides at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, and various locations around the south east. Forest Chumps MTB have regular rides at spots around Surrey Hill and nearby areas.

Thanks all.

Fitness wise currently more Pedalhounds than Ard Rock. Failed to finish Ard Moors this year. Skills wise... just getting back into riding the Radlands and Punchbowl steeps, slowly but surely and not hitting any big features.
