Lots of threads on it - google have made their image links longer so they no longer work on this forum.

I get the link like you have and then run it through goo.gl to shorten it:

EDIT - or what binners said 😉

It would appear not.

Have you broke the internet again?

Nice picture Binners but not really my cup of tea

Thanks - my ankle update thread now has pictures.

Why do they change things to make them more inconvenient for Luddites like me?

I hope these are helping. I've been reliably informed that pictures of cats is why the interweb was invented

One of us has been mis-informed, I heard it was pictures of pussies. Google images returns very different results to what you are posting 🙂

for some unexplainable reason tho, when i do it that way (shorten url using either goo.gl or bit.ly) my pics can be seen for a while, then people start saying they cant see them any more.
what sort of voodoo is that?

You can see them as they're cached to your computer or linked to your google account. As they don't end in an image tag no one else can see them as the forum code won't show them as as image.

That's not the reason why they don't work.

I'm trying to put up a picture from Google, why doesn't it work.
In Google photos I click on the share symbol then on get link, then click IMG on here, I've tried pasting the link in with various combinations of http// etc and it's not working. The link address isn't really long as per the one mentioned above ?!

Help 😳

Does that mean it can't be done from Google pictures, or just that Google pictures is shite ? 😕

Using hosting, pictures I've taken that are synced between my phone and tab etc.

The link I get when I get link is like this - if you can see what is below as text.

Yeah, that's a link to the page with the pic on - no use for embedding.

Why out of interest? I use it for backup and sharing pics or viewing on multiple devices and it seems to do all that well. It just won't post on here now...

Now it doesn't, you're right. Hopefully they'll do something to sort that.

i just had a look at imgur but its not very intuitive. i couldnt work out a way of uploading 10 pics to a 'for sale' album say, ready to embed here.

is it just this site that has the problem with g+ pics then, or is g+ a nightmare to embed everywhere?

Ive always just used flickr, it died a fair bit when i got messed with with a while back but its always been better than Picasa (now google Photos), though i do like the google photo stories where it uses the geotag info to include maps.

You just select another image, it stacks them and you upload. It then will provide with the BB code for each one.

Far as I can see, hotlinking of G+ images is 'protected'. It's not an STW issue beyond the fact that STW hotlinks rather than hosts its own uploads.
