2030 World Cup over 3 continents??? WTAF? Just how much money is sloshing around with these eejits? Never mind the sustainability issues. And never mind the fans. Never mind the 2034 human rights issues with Saudi. Aaand...breathe. Why did I watch BBC News tonight? HS2 nonetheless. Crazy world.

Sustainability issues? That's exactly the purpose to prevent people travelling to see the match coz it will too expensive to travel.

Would love to see a fly on the wall documentary around FIFA, they just seem completely dysfunctional and ideas they have, and press releases they do make me think of them as some kind of 'Thick of It' style government.

Usually you'd celebrate a centenary via the opening ceremony theme, i'm not even sure where the opening ceremony will take place now, Uruguay is the first game, so will it happen there, will it happen in the actual host nations, will there be a delay for those teams playing their first game, then having to move camp over to Spain/Portugal/Morocco and set up all over again?!?

It was bad enough with joint hosts, but worked in the end, now we have 3 hosts, which was weird enough for 2030, but since you have more teams, it can be made to work a bit, now you've got this, christ imagine the carnage they'll have with another couple of years coming up with ideas!

Uruguay is the first game,

Probably there will be plenty of cheap or free tickets if the S.American economy remains the same as now.

Honestly, sometimes I feel as if I'm living in a different dimension. Not that I care too much about football, but hell's bell's, have I gone slightly mad here? Not just FIFA, but every bloody thing else going on just seems nuts.

You are not alone thinking this way.

I wonder if the Sun is moving closer to earth frying people's brains.

Fifa's decision to host the tournament across multiple continents comes after the governing body 'made false statements' about the reduced environmental impact of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Fifa said the tournament would be the first "fully carbon-neutral World Cup" but could not provide proof the claims were accurate.

They're complete shysters and frauds. The whole lot of them are totally, pathologically bent.

Remember, some of them used to be footballers so "management" or "event organisation" is not exactly their bread and butter.

In other inflated pig bladder news, Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will cohost the Euros. As a symbol of how sport can build goodwill and break down borders, NI's venue will be Casement Park...a derelict hurling stadium named after a republican executed by the Brits.
