Just wondering. like.

I'm getting increasingly *ing miffed with my daily commute being a slalom course through mindless zombie-esque, shellsuit-clad, pasty-munching half-wits - who seem to have presumed, incorrectly, that the city streets have been pedestrianized.

So.... purely hypothetically.... if I were to adapt the same intense awareness of my immediate surroundings... or i was so pre-occcupied with things that occupy my mind while riding (would I be sectioned if I started smiling manically, mid-sentence like Gordon Brown?), that I failed to notice one of them stepping off the kerb in front of me.

What if I then impacted them at a rate of knots? What if I managed the impossible - to unclamp their *ing mobile from their stupid fat *ing head for a second or two? What if I hospitalised the myopic *er?!!! Just a thought..

If I was subsequently taken to court, surely I could use Darwinism as a defence? After all, if someone steps off a kerb in front of you without looking, then they deserve everything they get. In fact - I'm doing my duty for the survival of the species.

Does anyone know if anyone has ever tried a similar logic as a defence for, say, deliberately....oops, did I say deliberately..... running someone over

surely the person who walks out into the road is at fault. prehaps the court could see that without the need for you to highlight the complexities of the darwinian model of survival.

still, would probably get a laugh from the jury so worth a try.

You would probably have gotten away with it, right up until they realised you had pre-meditated the entire thing and shared your thoughts with the Internet. *doh*

Binners, don't forget you've also got to go and drown their kids in the local canal. Darwinsim is about passing your genes on rather than personal survival. I'd kill all their other relatives too to be on the safe side.

you don't ride fast enough, obviously - in my few years of commuting i've gone into 3 pedestrians who walked out right in front of me, and emergency stopped for probably twice that many. no injuries so far, hopefully they learn their lesson. 😆

Lmfao, I like this post, I find it very hopeful that perhaps I'm not alone in thinking we are living in a huge idiot soup.
The best pedestrians are the ones who run into the middle of the road then slow down once there. We really should start a second front also, to exterminate the the health & safety looneys, for the greater good.

Yes. You will definitely get away with the Darwinism defence. Do it. In fact you could target nominated people as a money maker

In fact I doubt you could get away with it because by pre-meditating your response, you have added your thought-process to the Darwin model gene pool and proved that you also have adapted and adjusted just like the sloths you hate have.

If you genuinly accidentally killed them, that would be a different matterbut as stated above, you have already stated your thoughts on this...

I think if you were to tell the judge that you killed your victims because they were unfit to live and were polluting the gene pool you would almost certainly be regarded as unfit to stand trial and would be placed in a secure psychiatric unit and heavily sedated. But it's got to be worth a try. 😉

Binners, ignore the doubters. They are weak and pulling you away from your destiny. You will defo get off with this defence. No jury in their right mind would find you guilty.

Unless it was stuffed full with creationists.

There are no creationists in Manchester so that's not going to be a problem. They were all managed out due to darwinism

I think you'll find that most of the brain deads in Manchester are a result or incestism rather than darwinism. Especially if they've come in on the Burnley train.

Ha, while I somehow doubt that Darwinism could be used as a defence, I have had this happen to me riding home from work. I use a path which is part of the town's cycle network, but also gets used as a dog toilet and general pedestrian motorway. On this occasion I was behind another cyclist who passed a teenage girl yakking on her mobi. As I came up behind her, unlike the other guy I tinged my bell to let her know I was there, at which point she just started to move from the side of the path where she had been walking straight in front of me without looking behind just as I got level. I slammed into her, knocking me sideways and hitting my right knee hard on the Tarmac, while she went sprawling, dropping her phone which smashed on the ground. Instead of saying 'stupid moronic cow, why don't you look where the **** you're going', I actually apologised because I rang my bell and she didn't hear me! She walked off back the way she came without a word and I limped off until I felt able to get back on my bike. At least I had the satisfaction of knowing I'd trashed her mobi. Silly inattentive bitch.
