I'm sitting in corporate world behind a desk feeling thouroughly bloated (and slightly guilty it must be said), attempting to justify it as fuel for tomorrows ride....

😳

Quite the opposite - I've just had a vanilla slice from the bakery. It was so nice I'm tempted to go back and get another one...

I'm on a conference call after eating a chicken escalope and two slices of apple strudel, and some crisps.

I'm nodding as I type...

Not today, however this time tomorrow, as it's the Marple 'food and drink festival'. It truely is a gourmet's delight of homecooked, locally produced goodies, cakes, pastries, pies, meat, fish and veggie dishes, breads, fruits, vegetables etc.

yesterday - lunch was Chickin Katsu curry from Waggamma with large super dry, bottle of coke and some chocolate at my desk for sweet - then someone with a 50th birthday in the office came in with 3 boxes of krusty kreme doughnuts, of which I had 3 🙂

Where's Marple????

it's about 15 miles from that Manchester on the very edge of the Peak district.

Get an early morning train, stuff your face and you can sleep it all off on the journey home 🙂

Edit - can't get the quote thingy to work, doh!

That's not an issue of discipline, that's a mental health issue

Indeed, even a recent copy of STW mag recommded bacon rolls as perfect bike food....

Just had an apple turnover. I'd better stop now.

Haven't had that bloated feeling for 6 weeks now since embarking on the paleo way of eating, amazing to feed a huge meal into myself and not feel shit after.

Yes, me. I have managed to maintain a belly and a pair of mantits for the last 10 years or so. But now it's changing, I'm walking 2 to 3 miles a day and eating less crap (except today, it's my cheat day so I'm having steak and chips and gallons of red wine tonight).

I felt much better after quitting the bread and pizza, the weight has started to come off and I've only beeing doing this for a month or so.

I sometimes ride a bike!

amazing to feed a huge meal into myself and [s]not feel shit after[/s] still feel frigging hungry afterwards

Fixed that for me.

There's some kind of hunger receptor in my brain that's only activated by carbs. And my stomach...

I've started hitting the chips again, as I've just dipped below 11 stone.

It's such a curse not being able to put on weight 😉

Clearly genetic too, as my sister's really struggling to gain weight in preparation for walking the Pacific Crest Trail.

I just had a Google to see what the Paleo diet was.
