Because he has to be skint to make this piece of doodoo.
A bunch of one dimensional characters, a piece of ludicrous tech and all the action taking place in a warehouse. Awful.

And it’s still better than Rogue with Megan Fox as the leader of a team of elite mercenaries. Yes, that Megan Fox, succinctly described as having the body of a professional pornstar and the acting ability of an amateur pornstar.

He's also made lots of good ones, but lately he seems to have gone full Klaus Kinski.

Actor gets big paycheck to phone in a performance - who’s going to turn it down? John Wayne made a career out of it, as have a great many others.
Nobody makes you watch them.

There is a tradition in acting of not turning down a paying gigs. Picky actors don't last long (thought there are exceptions).

Money is money, most of us turn up to work each day and would probably describe our jobs as crap to so/so. Imagine what we would do for a million quid, or even a hundred thousand.

The wag that came up with that? Give him a medal! 🙂

Reminds me of Michael Caine's response when asked what he was doing by agreeing to appear in the infamously risible Jaws 4: The Revenge

"I have never seen the film, but by all accounts it was terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

I saw it on Honest Trailers. A statement of much assonance.
