Thought I’d risk it and have a beer. Big mistake
19 year old daughter loses her phone in pub, run out of data so can’t track it. Have to buy bolt on data pack to get out back online to discover someone has walked off with it. I walk into village to resolve, find it on a random dude in another pub. Confrontation but sorted
daughter then falls out with boyfriend, I become relationship counsellor to sort out.
other daughter is due to get lift home with sober friend but her car has flat battery. Go to push start it and there is a random pissed 16y/o in back seat asleep
spend 45 mins trying to sort out pissed 16y/o who is too scared to go home and is insisting he will sleep under a bush as an alternative to his dads wrath
Get broken down car started but second daughter has gone AWOL. Meet her new, very nice and very sober boyfriend who’s lift has bailed and is also stuck
Now have three additional teenagers staying in the house, an angry wife and confused spaniel. Took me nearly three hours to bring calm to the chaos.
i bloody hate new year.

Me and my big bloody mouth. Got a phone call at 5am from my mum and have had to take her to A&E for severe pain in her kidneys, no ambulances available for 6-8 hours so I had to drive an hour through the storm to get to her then 45 mins to her nearest hospital.
Same old shit, different year...
