In contrast to the usual doom and gloom, post up the good things that have happened to you today ...

For me:

2 hours cycling before work on a crisp chilly day with blue skies and sunshine, with a similar ride home tonight 🙂

Decided it was 'cake friday' so bought a big chocolate cake to share with the lovely folks I work with - cue lots of happy workers and much munching of cake ...

Going to make a huge veggie curry for dinner tonight (to be accompanied by a nice glass of wine and my feet up)

Over to you guys ...

(have just noticed that biking, food and wine are all it takes to make me happy 😳 )

Technically it could make either forum Sue. Its sort of half rice/half chips. Bi-forum if you like

Well... the suns out, I got my bike back last night from the LBS after major surgery. And for the first time in my life the bill was much less than I was expecting 🙂

Tapas for tea tonight and a few ales. Simple pleasures eh?

Cake Friday, you say?

The meeting I was supposed to have from 3-4:30 has been cancelled, so I get to leave work at 4 instead.

I paid for some new wheels from the classifieds on here.

Binners is that the intense fixed?

Driving home home tonight after work to catch up with my Mum tonight then my Nana tomorrow, been ages since I properly caught up with them as it has been a busy year so really looking forward to it.

Hopefully my mum will have made her world famous sticky toffee pudding and as it is a Friday I’m sure she will have a nice bottle of wine open too.

Saturday evening I’ll catch up with my dad in the pub for a pint or three and his usual far fetched stories then a long lie Sunday with the clocks and go and congratulate my best mate and his fiancé on getting pregnant on my way back up to Aberdeen.

More of a happy weekend than just a Friday but I’m really looking forward to it making today a good day.

It wasn't the kebab Binners. It can't have bin.

Kebab is healthy and nutritious.

Sat here scribbling away at a Top Secret New-Type design for something; I love it when the creative juices and ideas are flowing.

Later will come the 'now it's time to turn design into reality' phase, and that's when the soul-destruction will take place, when I've then got to go and deal with some numpty who won't have a clue what I'm on about cos 'they never do it that way' or some other such lame excuse...

(Cries in despair)

I'm driving to the Peak tonigh to spend the weekend with my mates. Riding bikes, drinking beer and talking rubbish. And the weather forecast is pretty good.

Happy days indeed.

It's bloody lovely out.
I'm taking part in an informal night race / muck about in the woods with some new folk tonight.
Then tomorrow morning putting some miles in exploring local stuff round the edge of the Wolds, and scouting out new offroad commutes.
My cold has just about gone.

After a few weeks off the bike due to a bust finger and a badly bruised cruciate ligament, I did a group night ride during the week which I thoroughly enjoyed. Battling through the gloop in the dark never felt so good!

I'd been going a bit stir-crazy, feeling lethargic and generally crappy, not sleeping well etc. I've had 3 8hr+ nights of uninterrupted sleep and I feel awesome.

Now I'm just about to log off and do a quick 40 round the Trough of Bowland on my roadbike.

I'm off way Oooop North to MrsBouys parents farm laters with the bike in the back of the Van. Clean riding gear too (nice smell for a change, hahahaha) MrsBouys looking forward to see me too by all accounts (nice phone call earlier MWAxxx) and has already made a shedfull of Apple Pies (I love her) And we're attending a planning meeting tomorrow eve which will invariably get heated and angsty and end up in the Cat "n" Fiddle accompanied by Ale. I shall be making funny holes in Pumkins with BinL's kiddles and lighting tea lights, feeding cattle, walking in poo splattered fields, herding ducks and chickens, getting freezing fingers and cold shoulders, watching the sunset over the hills and generally kissing my own ass because I'm a very lucky Bouy indeedy..

MWA X all.

Gah! No-one locally's got a bit of 18-22mm ply off cut, although the place down Poplar High St has a 2'x1' bit of 15mm stuff that might do the job actually so I best nip down and get it...

It's Top Secret I'm afraid; all shall be revealed in the Fullness of Time.

It's actually 12mm but it'll be ok. I'm so excited I fear there may be tears before bedtime. 😐

Speaking of rice; I've got to go out again bloody hell meant to get some the other day bloody forgot again and I've just walked past a dozen rice shops. 🙄 😳

Mamadirt - that's awesome! (speaking as someone who's far too technically incompetent to build even one bike let alone 100)

Trouble with having had a happy day is that I've ridden 50 miles, which was great, but legs and bum are now possibly too knackered to go mtb tomorrow ... need immediate recovery suggestions???
