OK you woody folks
I have my eyes on some fallen timber on the canal towpath lots of it has been taken ( not by me 🙂 (leaving some larger ( 12 inch and above diameter ) logs that are too heavy to move so I want to cut them into manageable chunks and get them out on the bike trailor
A chainsaw is out of the question so looking for the next best saw
I have a couple of real cheap bow saws but have found them to be next to useless on owt over 6 inches diameter.
Borrow a chainsaw
do they make a stealth chainsaw
Silky saws?? Not cheap but bloody good....
Small genny, electric chainsaw, sas suit, at night
*hesitates before doing a google search for 'beaver'*
i went out with a girl who lived on the a canal and it would appear it is absolutely fine to use a full size petrol chainsaw on a towpath. if your worried, put on a hi-viz... you can get away anything in a hi-viz
I dont fancy cycling out and then back with a loaded trailor in full chainsaw PPE just as much as I dont fancy using the chainsaw in cycling gear .
hand saw it has to be to cut wet green wood quickly
that bow saw looks good
You can get green wood blades for bowsaws
