Just need to watch half an hour of Ray Mears now sharpening it with his Japanese water stones and my bank holiday is complete.

Ya, pounding with hammer is for the tv programme I guess to show his skills ...

He should have used his green hammer machine (sitting outside in the yard) instead because that's what it is for 🙄 ... pounding with hand takes ages and does not really lower the cost. 😛
