I'm having issues with my hamstring tendon where it connects to my calf, right on the outside of my knee joint. Started back in January when I was upping my training, a bit, but nothing I haven't done before. At the stage now where after about 4 hours it gets quite painful (enough that I'd stop if I could).
Physio has given me exercises and I already to a fair bit of stretching and strengthening at home and in a weekly pilates class. Have taken it easy the last two weeks but on a light MTB ride on Saturday I could feel it (lightly) despite a couple of gentle hours. And after strengthening, it's sore too.
So, what do I do? Lots more rest? More strengthening? How long should something like this take to heal (I know, how long is a piece of string)? Anyone else had something in this area? I'm fairly confident it's the tendon and not the lateral collateral ligament, but I'm far from an expert.
Do what your physio says to do. I am in the middle of this too, but for a torn rotator cuff. June is the likely earliest I can ride trails again, at best. So in the meantime I see the physio regularly and do the exercises. Not much more to add. Tendons don't heal quickly.
