cos it's squeaky cheese. that's what it does.
Yep. I love squeaky cheese!
MMM it's like the bacon of the cheese world, awesome barbequed or with a cooked brekkie.
I love it but am undecided about the squeak.
Also, am I the only one who thinks it feels a bit wrong to eat it raw? It seems much more wholesome grilled with peppers and tomatoes ..
It has to be grilled or barbecued.
IMO it's only the cheaper stuff that really squeaks, else it's been overcooked.
Try the Cypressa version. Delicious and worth the extra quid or so.
Its a fund-emmental-ly different kind of cheese for scientific reasons I can't fathom. You heat it, and instead of going soft - it goes hard. A mouse eats it and the cheese squeaks. What the hell is going on!
You know, I'm feeling a bit disgusted with myself for running to the kitchen and hacking a lump off to go with the Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm sure Mrs RRR has a plan for it to be cooked with something or other but there's no other cheese in the house.
Is it always wrong raw/naked?
.. Oh and the squeaky culprit is Ocado's bog standard squeaky cheese..
under the grill with honey and sesame seeds.
Fried with chilli is a close runner up to barbequed...
Mmmmm
So is it entirely perverse to have it raw then?
Grilled on large garlic buttered flat mushrooms with hot sweet chilli sauce ftw

MmmmmmMMMMm
there was an article in new scientist's "does anything eat wasps" about squeaky cheese, can't seem to find it tho.. something to do with it being heated and the proteins melting and reforming...anyway i love it, its the king of cheeses, grilled bacon, grilled haloumi, mayo, heart attack. nom nom
