Induction. Better control, easier cleaning.

Only ever induction or gas. Ceramic & halogen are awful.

Induction much quicker than halogen, more controllable, glass doesn't get hot , easier to clean.

I've always been a gas person, but I've just converted to induction ?

I'm an induction convert and like it a lot. Electrolux one here which has a dual ring setting formatting tins etc which is handy for gravy.

Induction all day long.

Night and day compared to halogen.

As said, induction is amazing.

Hate using my grand electric hob that isn't induction, it's crap.

Used to be firmly sold on gas hobs and they're still pretty good - but since we got induction we've found they're much better if you want to do a low heat summer without burning things to the pan. They also get stuff boiling quicker than gas too so better at the top and the bottom of the temperature scales imo.

Also very easy to clean as they just have a flat glass surface to wipe.

Induction and gas for us. Love the induction its brilliant. The gas is great for all the reasons gas is good also it works when we have a power cut (which is common int hills).

Yes, induction. No downsides.

Make sure you get a high power one. Some of the cheaper ones sort of cycle the hobs on and off?

General rule is to get one that runs off a 30A supply

Induction - don't get all that sticky mess to clean up when the pasta boils over

We've just bought a new kitchen and got a Bosch induction hob which are apparently the best ATM. I'm totally impressed with induction compared to halogen. It heats things really quickly is instantly controllable and as said no messy burned food to scrape off. Win win win!

Wino - you can get woks that work on induction. You need a flat metal plate on the bottom, but due to the heating process with induction pans it works fine. Bloody powerful induction jobs!

thanks. We are moving house later this month to a place which needs a new kitchen - wife has already mentioned induction hobs.

No downsides.

In usage, absolutely. In setting up - can be expensive and mean getting new wiring from the consumer unit to the kitchen.

It was still worth it though for cleaning the hob with a cloth/control-ability/power/awesomeness/etc.

Get it done.

One possible downside in converting, your aluminium pans, and most importantly your Bialetti aluminium stove pot will not work.

It's a case of steel is real.

But don't panic you can get a steel stove pot.

If you are unsure, I've just bought a standalone single induction job whilst my kitchen is being rebuilt. £30 from maplin, and will be a handy outdoor hob when bbq-ing afterwards.

Induction over halogen but turbo gas hob rule them all! 😆

If you have induction hobs you need to make sure all your pots and pans are compatible coz some aren't. 😛

Induction, but don't make the same mistake as I did. I bought a cheaper one and even though we like it, on the lower settings 1-4 it pulses energy in bursts and not a steady flow if you see what I mean.
It's a PIA when cooking some things.
I'd never heard about this issue with some hobs so try and find out when you choose yours.

Induction.

But watch the glass top, theyre more fragile than you might think.

Ive just smashed the glass on mine with my knee .

Will be replacing it with another the same.

Make sure you get a 32 amp hob and not a 13 amp one, otherwise you risk the power being reduced when you have multiple rings on the go
