Does it so what it says on the tin?
As it works from a code I'd hope so, but just wondered if anyone had real life experience.
I've only found one other source for the colour I need. Trying to make cost effective repairs and it's becoming a ball ache.
Otherwise what would it cost to get 2 small car body panels sprayed up?
If it comes from a code it isnt custom.
What colour of car are you trying to match ?
Just pick two random colours and go for the random Benetton look?
I've always liked the idea of a car in dazzle-pattern camo. You can see where it is, right enough, but you've no idea of its speed or direction.
Think of it as the escalation answer to BMWs.
It's very expensive, for what it is, and I wasn't impressed with the quality.
I got some really good U-Pol colour matched aerosols from a local auto paint specialist for less money and the quality was so much better. I'd try to find a local auto paint place and let Halfords crack on with the business of selling BSO's to people. 😆
Cheers, I'll look for an independent.
TR Smart Spice Red
I didn't have much luck with my local Halfords and their custom paint. They mixed some up from the paint code and it was miles off.
Whatever you end up getting try it somewhere discreet before you go using it somewhere obvious.
I have had better luck with ready made rattle can's
Ta again.
The stuff i bought needs a white undercoat, is this normal? I only found this out after asking the seller, by which time I'd tried grey and red.
Is this common? Shirley it'd be tough to know when to stop with the colour coat?
Red needs a white under coat.
General rule is the brighter/poppier the colour the lighter the undercoat
+1 for indy factors paint

Based in Falkirk used them to match (by card) a Peugeot optimum frame was quite a good match I think it was about a tenner for a 600 ml can (last summer) mixed while you wait (5 mins). Don't let the shit website put you off they have been there for years and the paint seems okay quality.
With the Halfords stuff it's not so much the paint to watch out for but the crappy fan pattern spray cap that will gum up after 2 seconds of use or just fail to seal properly on the can.
Revisiting this...struggling to find a "paint factor" in Edinburgh, can anyone help?
Well the eBay paint I got is not exactly a great match.
Maybe it needs more coats
Paint matching is an art form, and certain colours are harder than others to get a good match (red being one of them). And it's compounded by different paints giving slightly different finishes.
Your best option is a good supplier who can colour match to an existing panel, but I only know one supplier in Edinburgh, and they're trade only.
Cheers. This is frustrating 😡
I'll say it once more> http://economyautopaint.co.uk/ < or spend more time and effort dicking about
Falkirk Mark, cheers, that is a bit if a trek, I'd hoped there'd be someone closer, and have been suggested Lothian Brakeways.
