As above, a Google isn't coming up with much recent stuff since the immediate aftermath of the update a couple of months ago, as to reliability, speed etc.

Any users here?

Typing this on mine with 5.1 update. I've had plenty of updates, about a dozen or so over the last few days.

I'm glad I stuck with it and persevered through the 'aftermath' (an apt term to use!) as it did indeed get much, much faster and battery life returned to normal.

Is it still available after Tesco ditched Hudl? I had the update offered a few months ago and decided to wait, but now when I check for updates it's not there.

Just turned mine on this morning after a couple of weeks and was offered the update. Didn't realise it had been released, was surprised!

Should I shouldn't I....??!

Updated on Friday. Had hassles initially with Google Play services but a clear of the app cache and data (for just google play services) sorted it.

Yes, but persevere with it. Initially mine was draining battery very quickly when not in use. It improved and I'm pretty sure battery life is now the same as it was. All my apps continued to work fine

I did mine a couple of months ago, battery life did seem shorter.

Now, it has stopped working though, the red light comes on when you plug it into the charger, but I can never start it up with the start button or get to the reset menu with the start and volume up button.

It's just under a year old so I think that I should get onto Tesco customer service and see what they say (hopefully they will offer me a replacement).

Not got a hudl but parents do so I'll keep an eye on what happens. They don't like it if an update makes things worse.

Have to say with Android phones though I continually got worse battery life with each update. Though I found it was more the Google apps that were an issue. Google Now in particular would kill my battery in a few hours. Removed, lasted much longer. Many stock apps I would have to uninstall or block to keep on top of battery life but updates would restore them.

I did the deed... I'm impressed, I'd say it's actually faster and more responsive.

Had the play store sign in problem, but a restart fixed that.

Updated start Sept. Works fine although takes ages to boot if turned off (which I rarely do)

Oh right, mine's quite quick!

And the unlock/wake up is so much more responsive now 🙂

I did mine. What a nightmare. Have constant issues with the camera, when it was first updated the lock screen never appeared when i tried to unlock it but the screen was active so at least i could unlock it, one of the updates from the store kept freezing and wouldn't do anything. Had to let the battery drain and the device turn off before I could do anything with it. Oddly, both of these issues are only apparent when the Hudl is in the portrait orientation with the charger port at the bottom of the device. ANY other direction and they aren't there.

When i spoke to tesco customer support, they told me to wipe the cache and do a factory reset on it, which fixed both the problems. But the camera problem has reappeared...

BUT, the battery life seems better, the device seems slightly quicker than it was. The camera issue I can live with, especially as I don't use the camera much. My son also has one, and I did the update on his, which was flawless.

Luck of the draw, I guess...

All working fine on mine apart from a game which now won't load up - i'll just leave it & see what happens after the next update ..not the end of the world.
