Just had a call from a mate who had been replying to an email I sent earlier.
When he hit reply the email address Ada.ZemZem@gmail.com came up which isn't mine!
Has my email been hacked?
Is there anything else I should do other than change password?
[Edit] Shit sorry no, it's a fake email, my g/f gets lots of them with her contacts listed as the sender.
[S]Literally just sorted my g/f's yahoo account. They have the option for secondary security, so we set that up too (linked her phone number to the account). No idea how they hacked her account, her MS security is upto date & run along with malwarebytes regularly. She has her email on her phone, so doesn't sign into unsecure computers to check it. Annoying & bizarre[/s]
Email addresses are easy to fake so probably nothing to worry about. Worth changing your pwd just in case though. Do a full virus scan of your PC also.
Edit: z1ppy, Yahoo have a bad rep on security of the EMail system.
Well even though they allowed her account to be hacked, they did alert her promptly. Trouble is even having changd her password & set up 2ndry security, she being stopped by yahoo from send out a warning email... Very annoying
